Isle of Man TT is one of the oldest motorcycle race, the first official one being in 1907. It started as a way to "bypass" a new law that prohibited motor vehicle from going over 20mph in the UK, so people started to race in 1904 on this island in cars and bikes. Think of it as the early motor races "tracks" when they were on public roads before race tracks where created like Monza or Nurburgring.

I've been riding for 32 years or so (yes I'm old) if you're looking for a sport bike the CBR 600 F4i is a great beginner bike that can cruise or haul ass when your ready. It's all going to be what you're comfortable on, Go and sit on everything you can.Body Armor is a must, dress for the slide not the ride. I've owned a Yamaha R6 and a Suzuki 1000. If you need advice brutha let me know I'd be happy to help.
@kieranmorgan64476 жыл бұрын
Hanky Bannist8r I'm turning 19 this month, haven't started riding yet but am interested for when I'm in a position to be able to. And great advice; the amount of times I see people riding in shorts and tops is crazy, even today when it was really hot weather, I understand they don't want to be fully suited up because it would be really hot. But I'd rather be protected up, than regret it for the rest of your life, never know what can happen. I've heard that both CBRs and the Yamaha R series are decent starting bikes, I personally like the look of some of the Kawasaki series. Though I don't know much about what is a safe (not too fast) and controllable first bike to then work your way up. Which bike did you start on?
@BlessedVet6 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I ended up hitting a wall 6 years ago. I had a swollen ankle n that's it. Could have been worse. After so long I want to get back in it. It's amazing to ride. Have A Blessed Day
@Hanky_Bannist8r6 жыл бұрын
Kieran I'd suggest going with someone that your comfortable on and within your ability. Buy a cheap used ninja 250 until your experience and ability builds and move from there. I started riding in 1983, mostly desert and Motocross. I hung it up in 2011 and started riding sport bikes, most of the experience carried over but not all. Safety gear is a must I won't ride without it. If it's too hot for jeans,boots, armor,gloves ect I won't go. Riding a motorcycle is unlike any experience in the world, but safety should always be first.

I have been watching you since way before DOJ, and remember back to the original SAPDFR. Your comments have become a shit show. This people are so annoying. Keep playing what you want. Your real fans will stick around.
@TravisStewart426 жыл бұрын
Yeah...I remember when I used to enjoy diving into the comments on every video. Then DOJ got really popular, they got pretty awful and I stopped. Recently I started watching a bunch of videos I missed, the non-GTA ones from the last year or so, and the comments were simply toxic each time. Even nine months ago, when he would dare take a one day break from DOJ, the comments would be much the same as today.

Buggs, some background on the TT... So the Isle of Man is a small island between Great Britain and Ireland. The TT goes on over two weeks (one week practice and one week racing) every year and they shut down all the main roads. Its been pretty much every year since 1907 with the exception of a few years during the war. It is as crazy as it appears on the game, since 1907 there has been 255 deaths (including the Manx grand prix which uses the same course). In 2017 3 people died, in 2016 4 people died. Pretty much someone dies every year and usually multiple people.

It’s amazing to watch in in real life and to see a game even better, great episode. Please keep playing it.

"Narrow"... As a Brit the thought that some of these roads could be considered narrow is simultaneously hilarious and depressing- these are pretty standard country roads.

If you’re going to start riding I recommend starting on something smaller like a 300 because of you start on a big bike like a 600 or higher you’re just gonna be scared of it and be to focused on surviving to have fun and learn to ride. Also you’re going to drop your first bike and a 300 is a lot cheaper than a 600 or 1000. I recommend a ninja 300, r3 or an FZ/MT 07 because although it is a 700cc bike it is still pretty tame, light and easy to ride. Also I would like to see you learning to ride so I hope you at least try motovloging. What you’re saying about not going far in a car isn’t the same for motorcycles because if you enjoy it, it is all you want to do so you take time to explore and go places you’ve never been before while having a blast on a two wheeled “death” machine.

The Isle of Man TT is held every year at the beginning of June for a fortnight & one lap is 37.73 miles. You're right, it's dangerous, but as you stated, you don't understand why they race it. It's that lack of understanding that causes the "why" factor. Once you actually understand, it would become clearer, not saying it would change your mind, but you'd understand the "why". If you get Velocity TV, check it out in June, they have hour long reports on the heros of the sport, & the races.

Buggs, just to let you know my background, I'm 54 years old and grew up just outside of Milwaukee, the home of Harley-Davidson. I've been around bikes my whole life as a pax or rider. I will never discourage anyone from riding a bike, I love it, it is a lifestyle and I haven't had a four wheeled vehicle in years. The only thing I will say is if you are a new rider, my advice is ride as though everyone is trying to kill you, because they basically are!!! Be careful and enjoy your new hobby!

30+ year rider here who's current bike is a Gen II Hayabusa with a new Wing or GTL 1600 in my very near future. My advice to you, for what it's worth, is to swallow your pride for a bit and learn on used enduro/dual sport bike as everyone wipes-out their first bike learning the basics. The difference is replacing plastic fenders, signal lights/break and clutch levers are much more economical then bikes with full fairings etc.

It’s awesome that you want a bike irl but please don’t make the mistake of buying a stupid mental 1000cc monster right off the bat. I’m sure you know better than that but so many people go into the biker world not prepared for it and kill them selves on sport bikes. Start small and work your way up overtime when you are ready to avoid having your organs and bodily fluids flung across a highway. Anyways, this was pretty fun to watch. I reckon you should make another video on it maybe with Jeff, that would historical.
@AmanKumar-lm1ok6 жыл бұрын
LOL. Who the fuck start off with a liter class bike? Seems pretty retarded to me to get your 1st ever bike a liter bike. Not abusing but it seems like common sense to not start on a 1000cc bike.

They close the course and have been doing it for over a 100 years so enough warning as to what is going to happen for 2 weeks May/June and 2 weeks in August for the Grand Prix. On the game they have done a great job mapping the course and even the surrounding areas impressive might even have to pick it up even though I live on the Island.

I hit speeds of 190mph on my 04 R1 only do this on the highways tho.. tons of mods to my bike, limiter has been turned off and bike is flashed cat removed. She’s a beast.. it depends on the year buggs, get something under 20k miles if you buy used. 30k is ok but 40k is crazy for bikes that revs up really high. For a starter bike go for anywhere between 250cc to 600cc. Anything bigger is way more dangerous and heavier. Starter bikes are forgiving 1000cc bikes are not so much.

The Isle of Man is like the Nurbugring and the autobahn mixed together in a blender, and the rider given a line of crack on a prostitute's ass for good measure. One of those places on my motoring bucket list! Sections are sans speed limit all year long, so i recall reading some time back. Not sure how much you weigh, but if you do get a bike, make it loud and noticeable. Not really for you, but people absolutely do not look for bikes. If they hear you coming, better for you. I had a hard-on for the H2 when they were coming out, but we had another kid instead, so enjoy your life before you get married! Handling bikes (esp. at speed) is a lot like driving a boat, ironically. You have to steer in anticipation of where you're going, not where you're at. Helps a ton when you're cutting it up. Add: FYI, the Isle of Man course isn't a race surface as you figured out, they are regular passenger roads all the way around the island. The 'jumps', particularly that one in the village where the photographers hang out, are little crests and divots in the road that you'd forget about in a car.
@kuba_ota51546 жыл бұрын
CMDR Boom yup. They literally close public roads to race there
@MrBudbilly6 жыл бұрын
Where Buggs stacked it is Ballaugh Bridge it's a humpback bridge with a pub just up to the right makes a great place to watch and you can feel everything go light there even just doing the speed limit. And you are bang on road gets used all year round and tends to be repaired in patches so if they are sloppy in their work you get seams and bumps and divots all over the place can be fun and very annoying.
