One of my game night buddies LOVES Carcasonne. Wants to play it all the time. But I think like your wife he would pass on this. I on the other hand would love to try it. Everyone is different.

A little late to the party but i just want to point out that the cattle by the farm scoring is not correct. It is 1VP per cattle that is adjacent to a a farm. You cannot double score a cattle that is adjacent to multiple farms.

I think carcassonne can also get into a higher level by adding expansions. This one looks interesting, though the thing you don't have to connect roads looks.. annoying :D Bidding reminds the game with a ridiculously long name from bezier, but in this one you use your own money to set the price, limiting your buying power for this round. Unique, but not sure i like this.

+smoothcriminal28 It does work. We played a game and it was tied for the first 4 rounds. Very tight. There are variants on BGG to add more tiles to buy with two that I'll try next time. MOre tiles = more decisions.
