Well done Kaz - especially the running! What a shame about the needles, but as you say, you can go back another day. Love the pack :-) Happy Hiking 🥾- Julia

Brilliant start to your trip, shame about the fog, that land slip was crazy, amazing the forces of nature, very enjoyable part 1, looking forward to part 2, good health and safe travels, cheers craig

Hi Craig-I know that crumbling cliff was unreal! Thanks for watching and I’ll go back one day without the fog 😊
@AlanMETALMAN3 жыл бұрын
Shame about the misty conditions but god to see it did not dampen your enthusiasm. That was some serious costal erosion going on there and quite frightening to see how far it had came inland. Take care, cheers Alan

I knew the erosion was quite bad on IOW but it was worse than I expected 😫 I think the plan is to buy more land from the nearby farmers and reroute the path. The farmers are bound to agree I think as it won’t be long before their land heads into the sea…

Hi Ben 😃 Although it was a bit disappointing not to see the needles, I actually loved that spooky mist! But that crumbling path 😱😱

Fun to see this first day of your fastpacking trip to Isle of Wight. Shame about the weather, but it can be like that some days. I visited Isle of Wight 32 years ago, so it was also interesting for me to see the place again. Some things have changed, but there is still some very nice areas on the island:) Looking forward to the rest of your trip!

I bet it has changed! 😃 The weather improved a lot for the rest of the trip so I got lucky!

Hi Kaz, what a shame it was so misty. I've very impressed with your running. Wow you were brave walking by those cracks.... I'd be paranoid they'd collapse & would be walking as far inland as possible x
@karenguttridge3 жыл бұрын
I was actually nervous about those cracks and just got through the area as best I could! To the left of me were electric farmer’s fences (only about a couple of metres away) so I didn’t really have much choice of where to walk. Glad when I was through that bit though!

Hi Kaz, I recently purchased the Montane Trailblazer 44 & Featherlite 6. You can't go wrong with Montane gear, it's really well designed and built to last. I have some of their shorts and trousers as well and they are by far the most comfortable walking gear I own. I might be wrong but one thing I noticed with your Featherlite 6 pack in this video is that I think you may have it on the wrong way around as the padded section is supposed to be against your back. I made the same mistake when I purchased mine and I was thinking how the hell am I going to climb over things with this on. But if it works for you why not:)
@karenguttridge3 жыл бұрын
Oh! I had no idea 😂 Thank you so much for pointing it out. It did work well for me on the front and I loved the easy access to things but I’m definitely going to try it the way you suggest now!

Shit you don't want to give that land slip a go do you? Good trail so far - clagy but invigorating. Mark

I know 😱 I was shocked by how bad it was 😟 Glad to get past that bit! The mist was very atmospheric and the few days following it were so hot 🥵 Loved it all!
