I went to the same uni the same time as him and would go to the monthly stand-up nights. That was almost 20 years ago and I remember most of the other comedians went from one joke and punchline to the next. What set Ismo apart then, and still does now, is how he picks a theme and just keeps looking at it from different angles, breaking it down, finding new insights, and evolving the story even when you think it can go no further. No matter how small the theme. Kudos, sir, you're truly one of a kind! My favourite, hands down!

My ex-girlfriend would sometimes say she doesn't feel the least bit sleepy, that she's pissed off because she can't fall asleep. This was right when she laid down in the bed. Five minutes later she was always sleeping. At 6 am I made her breakfast after having been up all night and couldn't think of anything else worthwhile doing. The doggy style sleep with alcohol isn't that good and healthy REM sleep, it's truly dog's sleep. But hey, better than "don't worry about it, just go back to sleep" in the morning is when you tell that you have trouble falling asleep (you've been getting only a couple of hours for the last two weeks) and they recommend you to just lay in the bed eyes closed and if it so happens that you STILL can't sleep, it's no problem because at least you get a bit of rest. And maybe they also tell you to still wake up early with only a few hours of sleep and guarantee you that you'll fall asleep the next night. As if you hadn't been living pretty much like that for the past two weeks, and now you stay up all night the next night because you got even less sleep and when the night comes around you're "over-exhausted" and too stressed out to fall asleep at all.

Anyone who could have been offended by this joke must have been already asleep by the time the joke was over. So no problem 😂

You know, he made such a good point with the whole sleeping thing. "Now I have time to think all the thoughts." I really just need to stop consuming so much information every day and give myself more time to sit and think like I use to. Not that I ever fell asleep easily, but may be worth a shot.

My mind when I can't sleep: What if I screw up tomorrow? Ismo's mind when he can't sleep: If the plural of "mouse" is "mice," what is the plural of "house"?

in that case, since the plural is "dice", what would the singular be? Douse?

Plural of spouse... oh, nvm...

@@E2O10 Good one! Of course, the singular of "dice" is "die," but I like your version of "douse"! 😂

as someone who has slept in the airplane, before take-off, I can concur with Ismo. I am stupid.
