How Federer keeps returning Isner’s crazy serves is beyond me. Simply extraordinary.

yea and Roger returns his serves like at the baseline too, I would not attempt that. LOL

Isner did serve terribly throughout the match, there is that. I think he lost this match way before he even stepped on the court. These guys that are in complete awe of Federer all have that problem. You gotta believe Roger is a nobody that you can easily beat. Starts there.

@@TheAudioman15 either way he was only broken once so his serve didn't cost him the match, federer was returning serves not even djokovic would get. he's by far the best of all time of getting those massive body serves, did it all the time against roddick, fed rly never had problems with big servers

Had forgotten about this match, Roger must've been thrilled to escape this one in 3. Such small margins against Isner, I think that chunked FH volley at 4-2 in the 2nd set tiebreak proved his demise in straights here.

With a 2 hander it's naturally easier than a one hander, although 1 hander provides you more freedom, it doesn't necessarily provide you the power which Roger generated in that flick.

I've never seen Federer running like that. But he probably understood that he can't outhit Isner with his power, so he started leveraging his movement to rush Isner and exploit his lack of movement.

because if u watch Isner's play you would know he's more vulnerable to low balls. Federer's slide makes him move closer to the net more or forces him to be on the net, which is not his playstyle at all (except only when he tries to serve BIG and volley)
