I personally as a person who wants to absorb all information that I can and learn as much as I can I want to see everything in detail even the things that seem like they mean nothing you'd be surprised how many of us don't know what's some of the smallest terms or details or actions or reasons many things done in fabricating and tooling, I have found that it is a bottomless pit of knowledge to be truthful

I appreciate your interest in the field and in my videos. I can certainly make an effort to delve into more detail on different subjects. KZbin already contains a massive amount of information on these subjects in videos from other creators in the metalworking community. It is as you say, a bottomless pit. Attempting to explain simple processes while diving into each detail and tangent seeking to explain it fully will result in videos that are hours and hours long of just talking and sometimes doing some cutting. You're better off watching videos from a lot of different people than waiting for a few to release the exact content that you're looking for.

Thanks for watching, I’m working on a couple of more involved projects. Definitely more to come but they take some time designing

Thanks for information. Though I have some 35 to 40 years experience in Machine tool and servicing, I have been gathering new ideas daily.... I am in to CNC CONSULTATION.

Very nice. Do dress the entire stone parallel though for full contact. That’s why it was sputtering.

The stone was dressed, I just wasn’t able to film it in my video on the wohlhaupter shank I show the setup

Where do you find that mounted stone you used for ID grinding?
@ED_T
@ED_T 6 ай бұрын
It’s a regular stone for a die grinder which I glued onto a steel extension bar

That is called an edge finder. If you look up "how to use and edge finder" you will find a good explanation

Yeah this tapered bore is still a long ways from being high precision, it’s just smooth and kind of shiny. The toolpost grinder needs some optimisations to produce better holes. I’ve addressed one of the flaws already which I’ll show in the next video, grinding another taper.

well done! 👍 that's a beast of a grinder, compared to my Dremel fixture 😂

Thanks! I originally built it to fix the morse taper 4 in my tail stock which was messed up by the previous owner. It still needs a lot of improvement but I'll work on that in the future.

@@ED_Tah so that explains why you were drilling the work with the carriage mounted drills rather than the tailstock!
@ED_T
@ED_T Жыл бұрын
At this point I use both, the tailstock is currently in acceptable condition for use. You can see me drilling a hole of I think 27mm in alloy steel in my video about the headstock spider. That’s all drilled with the tailstock

Anytime you chuck up and re- chuch up a stone, you need to dress it!
@ED_T

Very true, I didn't show any dressing in this video because I use the same magnet for my camera as my dressing stick. Sorry!
