tbh this mod creates some changes to make the game run better after major wars, like making ai delete some units and creating bigger templates. Still hoi4 shitty optimisation is a issue that you can't over come as a humble modder.

@@bartaz6124 That's not how it works. 1. They didn't need to add the millions of extra policies into the game. That made Millennium Dawn a laggy mess and it's no doubt contributing here as well. 2. They did remove South America, as you could see in the video. 3. Modding is actually about changing things, more than adding or removing things. The map, the tech and focus trees and the events were all that they needed to change, when creating new start dates. Sure that's technically adding more things into the game, but another idea they used in this mod, resetting the game and loading it again with limited inputs from the end of the previous start date, should make it so, that only the content needed for the current start date is loaded. Meaning that the extra stuff from the other start dates shouldn't be slowing the game down. It's all the other unnecessary fluff that they decided to add, like the extra policies.

The "central powers" that the italy was involved in was just a defensive pact before ww1 between germany, austo-hungarian empire and italy. Technically, italians had no obligation to join in the war because it was germany and austro hungary that declared war first, thereby not invoking the treaty.

@@nightmarexgaming120Only in a loose sense. A Serbian provided the Austrian justification for war but it was Austria that officially declared war on the Serbian nation. Serbia was actually complying with international policy in regard to the incident before Austria declared war. Germany then preemptively declared war on the Entante so it would be pretty hard to argue it as a defensive war to the Italians. Still, the Italians declaring war on their previous defensive allies is a pretty big betrayal regardless.

its a cool mod and very ambitious, the biggest issue i have with this mod though is that by the time you've played it for like 6-7 years in-game, every country has minimum 100 divisions and wars are painfully long and damaging to your own industry and population

This could be solved by division limits, In addition, the great War redux also has an event after the war were you basically loose all your factories due to demobilisation. If factories were removed when changing eras, in return for making them more effective due to the bonuses the era gives, and troops were limited, and somehow gets deleted after Wars, you could possibly get the game to a state where it, while laggy, can run for the 100 years. Finally, every war should have a scripted peace deal. Again, taking inspiration from the great War, germany gets the turnip winter in 1918, and are forced to do the mass attack or surrender. The second world war, if Britain capitulated, they will surrender, if America is in the war, a peace deal will be signed if Britain is under Germany for 150 days, and even then only if the Soviet Union has capitulated (which should also be a scripted collapse) Scripted peace deals, division limits, factory reset a of industry, and finally, National spirits to "guide" countries is the best way to make it doable. Of course, this will have the effect of just turning it into a history simulator with relatively few options for sandbox play. If they want to make a good 1900-2000 mod, the ideas i have written are basically necessary, but then it must be significantly more grounded in realism, meaning that conquering the world as Imperial Germany is not going to happen.

The great thing about this mod is how much you can specialize one nation. Meaning that you can focus any research and be ahead of where everyone else is but behind in other aspects. Making your nation really good at one thing. Want to have tanks really early save your artillery research bonus till later and you can have SPGs before you have researched the first tank.

Late to commenting, but good job play as Germany ISP. I developed patience playing as them since l have a piece of crap laptop that takes 5 minutes to load any save game. Btw, you can get full naval doctrine by 1907 by exercising the whole German navy at the very beginning of the game. Also, you can almost get the whole land doctrine. Do this by getting the head for the army to get army xp tickin' then go to the military advisors, and there should be two that give you army xp. Should end up with .90 ticking by 1904 if you remember to get all of them early. Love this mod, hope you all get it, hope it gets UPDATED SOON, and have fun playing it!

I like this mods idea, I think it just needs to tweak balance in regards to production. Buildings should take longer to reflect the longer time period as well as expansion of what can be done with the templates (to better reflect eras of infantry). I tried to play a Japan game with it recently and the ambition shone through but stuff just felt a little off. For example the Boxers were defeated (with myself having to occupy half of China to do so) only for them to pop up again a million times stronger a year later. Russia was nigh impossible to take on in the Russo war because naval invading with units as weak as they are after the game (even after being buffed as much as I could) couldnt get past Russian coastal deathstacks thanks to the League of Emperors forming. Alternatively keeping production similar for things like infantry equipment but giving players more things to do with them (China and Africa are cornucopias of potential on this) I think the temptation for many will be a desire for more content, as is the ambition, however I feel the mod needs to focus far more on the mechanical side and really balance out how things should play out and keep things paced properly. Ill keep an eye on it though, while I was playing with a barely developed nation without even a focus tree I could see the potential. Would rather a lag reducer that wasnt just annexing all of South America though, kinda kills the immersion of the game for me lol.

Reminded me when I did a playthrough as the US (no mods) I buffed myself the Soviets and the Chinese game lasted from 1936 to 2024 after World War 4 ended in the 1970s nothing ever happened after that both Chinas and Russia were democratic and most of Europe as well
