Question: Under normal operating conditions, how much water is actually sent to the drain in this system? Let's say you plug the system in, open the inlet valve, let the system fill and don't use any water (like in a "away from home" scenario), how much water will actually be sent to the drain ? Water is not free in my area, I am trying to understand if this system drains a lot of water or if the drain hookup is just used to backwash the system every now and then. Thanks

I have everything installed except the black drain line. I ran that up into the sink to see how much water it puts out. And is about 1 gallon a minute. Something isnt right here. Why is so much water being wasted. I will comment back when i figure it out.

Dear customer, The RCC7 pure to waste water ratio is 1:3. Under normal operating conditions, 3 gallons should go to drain. Water should go to drain while the system is being used. Once the tank is full, water should not go to drain. Just installed the RCC7AK (Jan. 2024). The QC coupler leaked after running the water for 5-10 min. Fortunately, I hadn't installed the (one-time leak stop valve) yet. There was no information about where to install it in the installation manual. Glad I watched this video and found out where and how to install the leak-stop protection valve. There are many complaints about leaks on the Amazon website, but good customer service (replacing defective parts quickly).

I am on a city water 💧 and when I turn on the ultra violet the water goes funky teast. I called the company and they Saud because the city might use ozone to clean the water abd ozone react with ultra violet. Is this accurate?

Just installed the AK version. My water pressure to my sink faucet plummeted. Why would it effect my hot water? I am not sure of my kitchen water pressure but the outdoor hoses are 50-60psi.

During the prefilter flush, since full flow, the black line jumps around like crazy due to air breathing/gulping issue with it filling up the sink drain. Acts normal in normal operations when the system drainsge is much slower, just did that during the flush. Seems ok? (Installed on horizontal sink drain pvc component before the trap)

Am i correct that the water that comes through the tap is filtered only through the first few stages below, whereas the drinking faucet goes through an extra couple of stages? What extra stages does the drinking faucet go through and what does it do?

9:09 the red hose is shown being connected to the membrane and also connected to the CTO filter. I think it should be connected to the sediment filter. And also not to the membrane. Can you confirm this?

Prefilter outlet red tubing connects to the automatic shut-off valve (high-pressure side) and connects to the RO membrane water inlet. tubing color may vary on different systems. Ok, then it should be included in the video and the locking clips should be the same color as the valve like the others. Thankfully when I installed mine almost a year ago I came to that conclusion and I did that but yesterday when I istalled another one for my mom I didnt, I'll have to go back today to install those locking clips. Another fault is that there are no adapters for the European water inlet thread despite buying it on Amazon Spain. I have had to spend €17 to buy a replacement for the part... twice. Everything else is fine, that's why I recommended my mother install a system for herself. Thanks@@iSpringWaterSystems

I bought RCC7AK and installed it today. The filter casings and tubing produces moisture due to cold water from the well and this causes the water leak valve to closed. I have removed the water leak valve for now. Any suggestions?

I would like to install this system in a closet behind my refrigerator icemaker. I do not have a drain. I would like to run a 1/4 copper drain line vertically about 10 feet and then horizontally about 20 feet before attaching it to a drain line. Will this work?

is after the P Trap the right spot to tap the drain tube in or should we put it before the P Trap to prevent sewer gasses entering into the tube.i would like to put mine after because of basement install just not sure if your Video is correct

@@iSpringWaterSystems Thanks for the reply I see now that this system has a auto flush flow valve with restrictor built in I believe so their should be no way for gasses to go back towards the membrane as the valve will be closed when water is not running also the drain tie in for saddle is higher than the drain point @ the membrane so water left in tube should act as a Ptrap

@@DKits73 Tomorrow im going to install my waste water drain after the P trap like you because i too am putting my system in the basement. I dont see any problem with sewer gas for the same reasons you mentioned. You are right, this video shows installing it after the P trap. Their earlier version of this video shows them putting it before the trap. In that installation they had a double bowl sink with 2 horizontal pipes. This video is a single so in order to install in a horizontal , they had to install it after the trap

I cannot drill through an older enamel/iron sink and the dish washer cabinet is on one side and a cabinet with a drawer is on the other side. In short I'm having a difficult time finding a place to install the drinking water faucet

Hi there! You can use the hole from your existing faucet if it's compatible. The faucet included with the system requires a 1/2" hole. Simply remove your existing faucet and replace it with the one provided. Alternatively, you can continue using your existing faucet as long as it is RO-compatible. This means it must be a non-air gap faucet and able to connect with the 1/4" tubing/quick-connect fitting. Please note that our systems are only compatible with non-air gap faucets. We totally recommend using the faucet that comes with the system for optimal performance. I installed RCC7AK. I didn't know about this new video so I did not instal leak dedection unit. Is it a must to have it. Can the system work without it. Also I did not flush the stage 1,2 and 3 filters as it was not in the old installation video but I believe they will be flushed once the storage tank is flushed. Lastly my main issue that I have, it has been 5 hours since the installation completion but there is continuous water coming out of black drain feed. How do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

I bought the AK version that include the remineralization stage. I wonder this alkaline stage is adding iron to the water since I tested with iron test strip and it came positive (a little bit brown color towards the maximum)? Do you have video to skip the 6th stage?

The instruction manual discusses the option of mounting this on the wall and that there should be supports underneath the filters. But I see no recommendations or guidance about how high off the floor this should be mounted in order to allow filter replacement. Any guidance?

You are an alarmist and talking out of your hat. There is a one way valve in the unit, preventing any flow in the wrong direction. You are much more likely to have an air leakage from the p-trap joints than this 1/4" hole with a properly clamped saddle.

how do i stop the "water hammer" everytime i use my sink, dishwasher, or shower? i get water hammer on the red tubing coming from the cold water supply line..

After the filter installation, I drain x2 tank and occasionally hear water sound in the sink drain. Also, water in glass looks cloudy for a couple minutes and getting clear after. Is it permanent or temporary issue?

I just replaced my filters and for some reason now there is a leak from my wastewater port, is this a common issue? Assuming just to replace it? Any other suggestions or insights?

Hi RJ. If it's the problem of constant drain, sometimes the tank needs to be re-pressurized after changing filters if the valve on tank was not closed. If the flow restrictor sprung a leak then you can remove it and soak it in some white vinegar for a while then blow it out. We can also replace it as a courtesy. Hi there. Your final pH score will depend on the pH of your source water. During the filtration process, the water will be stripped of all contaminants and minerals which will reduce the levels of pH. The alkaline filter will replenish most of the alkalinity lost during the filtration process, but it may not bring it higher than the tap water that feeds the system. Hi there. It should be ok if the RO membrane is new but we don't recommend making it a regular practice. The pre-filters have a lifespan of about 6-12 months, while the RO membrane can last 2-3 years. Flushing the pre-filters while the RO membrane is connected may cause any loose carbon particles from the pre-filters to get caught in the RO membrane, potentially reducing its lifespan.

Another reason might be that your incoming water pressure is below 40 psi, so the tank cannot be fully filled to shut off the system. Please, kindly check that the incoming water pressure is at least 40 psi. If it is not, a pump should be added to increase the pressure through the system. If your incoming water pressure is 40 psi, it will be necessary to check the Automatic Shut off valve (AAS2) or Check valve. @@9001sem No, this system is not tankless. the purpose of the tank is to store the reverse osmosis water and provide pressure while you turn the RO faucet.

Water is stored in a bladder, made of a material called butyl. When there is a demand for water, the water is pushed out of the tank's bladder by air pressure. As water is forced into the tank by the operation of the RO unit, pressure inside the tank increases. In other words, it will help you to store water and increase the pressure in the system. Hi Sean. If water pressure is below 45 psi the system is not as efficient. More water will go to drain. The RO membrane is very tight and higher pressure is required. RO system with pump is recommended.

2 min 30 sec says to cut the red tube to fit. STOP....RESEARCH GO TO 8MIN and 10 sec. install stop leak valve before cutting red tube. there is also a bracket for installing the faucet onto a wall. There is no mention of this bracket. There is no mention of how high to mount the filters. I found 2 to 3 inch gap under the filter will allow filter removal.

I have a rcc7ak system been using for nearly 5 years, I recently changed all filters as filters were unavailable, ran into problem after replacing all filters I followed all step before starting it seems it's not filling tank and faucet leaking as water seems to be constantly on faucet it's leaking on the Hadlle of the faucet, I changed asov and waste flow still not working same problem

Why bother installing a drinking faucet? Couldn't you just drink the filtered water from the normal filtered faucet?

Hi there! We recommend using the faucet that comes with the system for optimal performance. However, you can use your existing faucet as long as it is RO-compatible. Please correct your instructions. At kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3bZfaSBnrWUa80, you instruct to cut the red tubing, then, for the leak stop valve, at kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3bZfaSBnrWUa80, you tell us to cut the red tubing again. If the red tubing is cut too short the first time, there's not enough tubing to install the leak stop valve.
