Sometimes the travel was to a sister local, so you're still home each night. I was driving 2hrs one way to get to work, and start time was 6am, not the typical 7am. So for close to 2 years, I had to wake up at 2:30am, leave by 3am to catch the bus into the project by 4:30am. The schedule was mandatory 6 days a week, sometimes 7. That was a terrible 2 years, but the scale was $48.75hr and I've got a wife a kids, so i did what i had to do.... I've since got on at a chemical plant only 16 minutes down the road, and its $44hr. So life is good, and I've got a schedule with days off, and no longer deal with layoffs and slow work years. Right now I'm in long break... clocked out Thursday, and don't go back until Friday night. Yea, that's one down... I flip flop between days and nights. But it ain't the first time, and to have a set schedule goes a long way!!!
