No REMATCH ❌. You don't run from somebody for 5 rounds while they stalk you down, on your 0 title defense streak, and immediately get another rematch. Dricus is next for Sean. Izzy was completely humiliated. 90% of his strikes were parried or checked. He ran away so much that the Aussie crowd started cheering on Sean in the 4th.

Tbh with you I really thought with as unbearable and fanatic as izzy fanbase is that I’d see a lot more coping after this fight, and like I’m not gonna pretend that because I haven’t seen it that it isn’t happening somewhere because I’m sure it is but just the fact that I haven’t personally seen his fanbase out here coping and crying like I’ve seen any other time izzy has lost or had a ridiculously boring performance says a lot because usually these fanatics are out in droves and I feel like for the most part at least from where I’m seeing things Sean put such a convincing thorough beat down on the guy, on the feet using literally fundamental defense and offense and it’s broken the brains of these adesanya fanboys and shut them up at least in the immediate aftermath before they can take a few days to let this sink in and get their coping mechanisms and talking points in order

Adesanya might be one of the best kickboxers ever in the UFC, but his striking defense is not good at all, he relies completely on leaning back and staying out of range which works against those with way shorter reach than himself. But he's not actually moving his head or defending himself properly. His chin saves him a lot.

“We all thought would fail against him” uh no, I was actually one of the people trying to explain that this is a bad match up for Izzy, Sean’s fight style and pressure is underrated. I was called a casual, and idiot, etc. for thinking that Sean Strickland even had a 1% chance to win… It’s kinda funny because people said the same thing to me about DDP vs rob, Sean vs aljo, and now Izzy vs Sean. Match ups, fight styles, heart, and cardio is what’s going to determine fights who wins a fight. Titles and names mean nothing, it’s funny, it seems like a huge part of the mma community thinks that they know what they are talking about and then time and time again the upset happens and everyone’s surprised besides me and the minority. Maybe it’s time to admit that the average mma fan who likes to call people “casuals” are actually the casuals themselves. If you pick fights based on big names and titles then you are a dummy, learn the fight game, study it, watch it closer, or stop sending insults towards the ones who actually know what they are talking about

@@justredmist9812a dump take? He mentions that Perira is a better Striker than adesanya. And that Strickland had a star-making performance. What exactly was so dumb about that? You sound like a child. I just for your information if you're ever in the real world in front of someone and you discredit their opinion like that for essentially no good reason you would probably get slapped I'm only telling you this cuz it seems you are a child with no male role models in your life to give you any constructive criticism on how to carry yourself. Hope you mature a little bit as I said you may only be fifteen or sixteen and not yet understand what it means to respect another man. Hope this helps. Enjoy your afternoon.

@@therainman7777 I'm not sure people are willing to give points for that. I mean, if you are the loser, you just lost in a fight, you got your ass kicked by the other person, and they demonstrated that they can do it. So of course some humility is going to be the overriding reaction. What he did not do is stick around in the ring and get interviewed about his loss on camera. He could not be a mature enough person to withstand the shame he caused for himself with his constant Christ pose ego of his. And if you think that was an accident, he then ducked out of the post-fight interview, as well. So no, he does not get rewards for his actions as a loser. He cowarded away. He ought to be thankful he was not treated as he treated others and got humped or mocked, or his children mocked while their father was hurt. Those acts in defeat are in line with his garbage when he wins. He's a shitty person that lacks the maturity of his age and lacks the soul fiber required to be a man.

Quick shoutout to Sean’s coach. He was giving good calls and pretty nice corner advice even tho Sean wasn’t the shooting takedowns. But was something he didn’t get on him about once he realized Sean’s style was a nightmare matchup for Izzy

Strickland said in his post fight presser that after the fight Izzy was saying he was mad about him talking about his dog… I seriously believe that Guru had an effect on this fight by exposing that and Sean repeating it on the world stage, it really destroyed Adesanya’s ego to the point where he was totally off his game. But I’m not taking away from Sean’s performance it was a masterclass.

Strickland is proof that sparing time is above all else (at the sacrifice brain cells). He may look nervous before the fights, but he's very comfortable with shots coming his way, and he has crazy conditioning w/ the pace he puts on.

@@itsawill9268 It is what it is. Most people don’t hard spar like that as the sole perpetration because it turns you into a vegetable in the long run. James Tony did the same thing when he was boxing. It’s bad for your brain, but you can’t replace/emulate fight conditions when it comes to experience.

Depends on the fighter. Whatever means you use, it's the end goal that matters. On one hand, you have Strickland, whose movement and pace thrives off of lots of sparring. On the other hand, you have guys like Holloway, who are impeccably fluid in the cage and do pretty much no sparring. Strickland touched this topic on his podcast with Chris Curtis, saying that it's his fighting style that allows him to spar so much and viceversa. By putting himself through several sparring sessions, Strickland had to develop his defensive style almost out of necessity. At the same time, by avoiding damage and being defensively sound, he can get more sparring rounds and reap the benefits without getting too hurt. He also mentioned how this method wouldn't work with a guy like Curtis, who tends to take damage in order to dish it to his opponent

This is the power of traditional boxing vs MMA striking. This is why every MMA fighter ever gets beat by youtubers who train boxing for a year. No amount of MMA flowstriking stylebending bullshit can measure up to a guy who just has his hands up with a standard philly shell and is willing to put a jab in front of you constantly. That's where the MMA takedowns are supposed to come in, but with a pure striker like Adesanya, there's no fall back, so he just gets pieced up
