The notion that the IDF don't have more say in a ceasefire than a group unable to leave an area makes no military sense. The idea of 'just release the hostages' without a ceasefire should lead to questions as to how many could be expected to survive being let loose under fire.

And the others are admitted, and born out by the fact that Ham.. is still alive, supplied with weapons, reinforced by other groups and fighting. So they must have tunnels to Egypt at least. And their leader who was in the tunnels just surfaced, in Lebanon if I remember right. They all have tunnels now, the perfectly logical response to being bombed for decades on end.

Looking at the hostages photos being release allegedly by Hamas ,both hostages are wearing black Tshirts and both have well kept beards one of the hostages has a goaty .After 7mths of being held captive beard growth would be much longer .Point being the photos are being doctored or the hostages are being treated with care considering the circumstances. There are thousands of Palestinians illegally detained. Last ceasefire, Israel imprisoned more Palestinians than they released. Which caused the dissolution of the ceasefire. The current Israeli government intends to invade Gaza with or without a hostage deal. The problem in achieving a permanent ceasefire and a full hostage exchange is not Hamas, the problem is Israel.
