Israel responded Friday in front of the International Court of Justice as South Africa urges the world court to stop a full-scale operation in Rafah. During the arguments, Israel responded and said there is a "tragic war" in Gaza, but "there is no genocide."
Israeli attorney, Gilad Noam told the justices in part that Israel had not conducted its wide-scale operation in Rafah because the IDF is taking extra precautions to keep civilians safe.

The Jews did not steal land from anyone. Gaza was controled by Egypt which then handed it over to the British and the UN. Yes, hundreds of thousands of people were forced to leave their homes but it wasn't just the Muslims. Prior to partition, Jews purchased great plots of land to accomodate the incoming Jews from Europe. The land was legally purchased for a fair price. When partiton divided the land, Palestinians were given an economicall flourishing Gaza. The Jews were given a lot of desert and although the size of land was larger, it was mostly uninhabitable. Many Jews were also displaced during partition and had to abandon their homes and move to Israel. During the 1948 War of Independence, over 10,000 Jews living in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) and the Gaza Strip were driven out or killed and their communities, homes and property destroyed or confiscated and yet Muslims choosing to stay in Israel were given Israeli citizenship along with all rights as an Israeli citizen. It is also interesting to note: " In the 20th century, approximately 900000 Jews migrated, fled, or were expelled from Muslim-majority countries throughout Africa and Asia. Primarily a consequence of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the mass movement mainly transpired from 1948 to the early 1970s, with one final exodus of Iranian Jews occurring shortly after the Islamic Revolution in 1979-1980. An estimated 650000 (72%) of these Jews resettled in Israel. Wikipedia. My question is: What has Hamas and their supporters done to protect Palestinian civilians? They started a war yet did not provide bomb shelters for the inevitable counter attacks. They did not let civilians take shelter in the miles of underground tunnels. There is irrefutable evidence that Hamas prevented civilians from evacuating areas that the Israeli's forewarned would be bombed. Hamas even shot people trying to escape those areas. Aid was provided for Palestinians sent to border crossings and dropped by planes. If aid couldn't get through border crossings [ also proof that Hamas destroyed some of these aid trucks ] why do they not " smuggle " aid through their tunnels? Also, it's interesting that enough foreign aid manages to get through to make it into Hamas hands and bank accounts. Another thing that really raises a red flag. Israeli soldiers are being blamed for beheading civilians. Sorry but this is a particular Hamas tradition, not the Israeli's.

Israel figured out how to make desalination plants to get all the water they need from the Mediterranean. Gaza never bothered to make any desalination plants, but chose to spend all their money on terrorist tunnel networks. When Israel left Gaza completely 17 years ago, the Palestinians destroyed all the Israeli greenhouses. So who is responsible for supplying food and water to their own people? By the way, did you ever comment about the 400,000 dead in Syria or the 250,000 dead in Yemen in their wars? how is Israel supposed to respond to the worst massacre in their history?
