yeah just something, at 2:12 he said that the "caliber" ("קוטר" mean caliber not size) was the same as the kalahnikov. its funny because that a wide misconception and misunderstanding in the IDF. (I was in a inf unit, in the idf thus why I speak from experience) we call the caliber "7.62" but there a pretty big difference between 7.62x39mm that the AKM/AKS/AK47 use "kalashnikov" and the 7.62x51mm that his barrett use. its inoffensive, I just hope my fellow soldier won't try to put some 7.62x39 inside their barrett rec 10, it won't be working well for them.

The Barrett rec10 was designed for urban snipers and not for wide open desert foothills or mountains, can one use it there? Yes..He’s firing the M118 round, and it’s effective range 800 meters. The hit probability(HP)percentage drops drastically near it’s furthest effective range, especially past 600m, unless all things perfect and that’s hardly ever the case. things get sketchy due to ambient air and drop in energy once out to 759-800m, don’t confuse effective with max range. IMHO I’d like to see the new Barrett MK22 300Norma or the 338 used for the environment projected in the video..

Any chance you know how far you can hit headshots (nice conditions) with the M118s on a gas gun?
@bobbyp82212 жыл бұрын
Great?..many factors are to be considered..temp. Wind, angle, environment(mountains, desert, urban etc), mirage, speed of the target, barrel consistency, understanding external ballistics for the M118 is key. Pls understand the situation of the Israeli sniper and his importance too the relationship of his target, not everyone is engaged because it’s not a game out there and the Israeli spec ops know this better than anyone..no trophies for 2nd or 3rd place only pine boxes..remember there is no penalty taking a shot at a steel target vs trying to engage someone’s face at 600m knowing that if you miss your enemy can cover 600m very fast, this could be your last shot..that’s my answer without giving an exact answer..hope that helps..
@reconhippy83522 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyp8221 Thanks, I know all that. This was my trade back in the day but with a bolt action. We could hit eyeballs at 400 meters on a sitting target. But the gas guns, I'm curious about their accuracy for 7.62 NATO, especially for HK's 16 inch barrel. The reason I ask is because I'm up in the air between a MK22 as you mentioned before, or just give in and get the HK gas gun because I'm losing hope that they'll ever release a 6.5 to us civis.
@bobbyp82212 жыл бұрын
First, thank u for your service..for someone that has used both gas and bolt there is a huge difference in external ballistics, energy, stability of a round etc. there is a huge difference from HK to the Barrett MK22. The Barrett is bolt rifle designed to have an interchangeable barrel to shoot the 300prc, 300Norma, 338. I personally prefer all 3 calibers including the 300win mag Mk248mod1. HK is 308 gas platform, it’s a limited platform when compared to the MK22 (oranges vs apples), expensive parts..can’t imagine interchangeable barrels then having to tinker with gas regulators, it would be messy..I think highly of HK, IMHO it’s probably one the more accurate 308 gas platforms on the market..when the round gets bigger gas rifles become somewhat much more finicky with accuracy and cycling..the MK22 can do everything the HK can, whereas the HK designed for urban engagement, law enforcement, will struggle engaging a target outside of its environment near MAX EFFECTIVE range..a great leader once told me “for something gained, there is always something LOST”..this also applies to rifles..
@reconhippy83522 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyp8221 I agree with the capabilities of the MK22 (it's a definite buy from me). I'm searching the high and low to see if anyone can school me on the BC for the gas gun. 3:04 what upper is that glock 19? Had me have to take double takes to see it's a legit Glock!
@Pouncer_Fox2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't know, but that is not a stock Glock slide or frame. While I'm here, he mentioned that his rifle fires the same as the AK round, which isn't correct either. The AK-47 is 7.62 x 39mm, the Dragonuv is 7.62 x 54mm, but the .308 NATO is 7.62 x 51mm. Yes, the diameters are the same, but they are different. All this might sound pedantic, but to gun guys, there are physical differences, and these cartridges are not at all compatible.
