ISRAEL: The Holy Land

Hi guys! I am back after super long break with a travel vlog of The Holy Land.
DISCLAIMER: I know you may not be religious or agree with views/opinions expressed here but please be respectful, as we tried to be throughout this trip.
I don't think any words will ever do it justice to express of how we felt and the emotions we experienced. It was scary, confusing and definitely spiritual. I had 3 hours of footage but I tried my best to cut it down. However, I wanted to show you as much as I can how complex this place is with various cultures and religions all intertwining into one.
I think I will do a sit-down vlog as well, as I feel like there is so much more to share with you from this trip.

We did a Greek Orthodox pilgrimage in 2018 & although it was amazing to be in a place that I only read about, but never thought I would go to, it wasn't the best experience like yours seemed to be. We were asking for directions in Jerusalem & found people were not helpful. Our bus driver was ok, but we got to the Dead Sea , he got off the bus, was gone for almost a half hour , came back on only to say that the Dead Sea was closed for the rest of the day! It was 2 pm. Lol! We were there the week of Easter & the crowds were massive, I didn't feel comfortable at all with the amount of people. By the end of the week, I, too, was exhausted from seeing all of the churches! To top it all off, 20 of us in the tour had falafel wraps & 8 of us got severe food poisoning, my husband being the worse. The physician who came to the hotel to evaluate him, told me that because I was a nurse, he wouldn't hospitalize him! I guess my husband was lucky to have been the first one getting sick as he was feeling better by the time we flew home, while others had a tough flight back to home. Sorry for writing so much, but it was so nice to relive seeing those beautiful, incredible, historical places!

Hi Donna! Oh wow, this sounds like a really bad experience and loads of unfortunate events. I am sorry you did not have the best time there 😕 I did see that during the Orthodox Easter it is extremely busy there, so I guess we made the right decision to go off-peak season as it was relatively ok and not super super packed as I think it is during certain months.

Aciu, Agne! Labai malonu gauti lietuviska komentara kartas nuo karto. 🥰 Dubajuje praleidau 7 metus jau, tad realiai tai jau tapo mano namais, bet siuo metu esu laikinai Amerikoje. Manau kitu metu pradzioje sugrisiu i Dubaju, nes ten tikrai labai gera gyventi (bent jau man). ♥️

@@imbrigita Many years ago I sang in the Cape Town symphony choir. We performed the Sacred Service in hebrew called Avodath Hakodesh composed by Ernest Bloch. We were told that the name for God, used in the score, should not be used. And then when the Israeli conductor arrived, he got mad and forced us to use the name as written in the score. Nevertheless, it was one of my best memories singing in that choir.

Love this vlog Bri. However, they do not live in harmony. Those Jewish gatekeepers at the door are waiting to cause problems for the muslims. I experienced it myself when I visited there in 2010. Luckily, I had an Australian passport and they let me through. For other muslims, the Israeli soldiers decide when they feel like letting them through and when they feel like not to. This Ramadan you may have heard them entering the mosque and attacking the muslims during prayer. Happens every year without fail. It’s about asserting control and power over the people and land. Utterly sad for all Palestinians and their Muslim brothers and sisters. Just wanted to state some of these things that you may not have seen there as a Christian guest.

This makes me so sad. I obviously saw barely 1% of this complex historical place and it's just so sad that there is so much unrest there, especially every year around the Holy month of Ramadan. I hope you had overall a nice experience in The Holy Land. 🙏🏼
