I love how Adesanya opened up about therapy and trauma, you see someone that speaks so confidently and think that this man is untouchable. We all have struggles in life and most of these fighters we look up to are dealing with or have dealt with anxiety, depression, etc. I just started therapy a year ago and was always super reluctant to it because I felt ashamed that I “needed” therapy. There’s no harm in helping yourself. Especially as a man I always felt like I should be able to deal with things. If any men are struggling out there ask for help, it’s okay to be vulnerable.

This was such an insightful comment. Unfortunately I'm TFG, I've stuffed everything down deep that I'm now numb to the world. The only thing that's ever alleviated that pressure build up have been psychedelics. Had the same problem dealing with depression, i always thought "it's a waste of time and money, how can words someone speaking make this go away?" And i was also anti medication, so I went 3 years just dealing with it until it got so bad that I literally didn't want to live, i used to say "I'm working on dying" went to a hospital for a free talk, and they wouldn't let me go because of my suicidal thoughts so was forcefully put in a mental care facility, got medication and took it because i was at a point where i was willing to try anything to get better and it helped now I'm working on getting into working again! I wish i seeked help earlier. Now i have Depression and also found out i have PTSD but I'm powering through with medication and therapy combo. I recommend everyone to seek help ASAP! You aren't less of a man for it! If anything you are more of a man for taking the steps to get better.

The giggled when Adesanya brought up Sumo as a good training tool for American football. He's spot on. The Sumo training would benefit the football players balance, footwork and overall skill levels. This is why he is truly the style bender. He takes martial arts very seriously and understands that there is something to take away from every martial art.

Most likely it's the imagery of what Sumo wrestlers wear. I deffo agree dude should explore that; would bring another edge to his game; Sumo's are more explosive than people think. Izzy is a genuine person that's why I like him. Well, his fighting style didn't hurt. After watching him fight and on the rise I've always noticed he was just himself, not trying to get anyone to like or accept him. The fact that he's been conscious enough to read his emotional and recognize why he does the things he does is a huge plus to why he's a champion. Izzy's something special, some think he's cocky but he really isn't, he's confident and himself.

Izzy is a role model of mine, very interesting take he has on the concept of role models. Such a cool dude, I love hearing what goes on in his mind. The haters talk about his ego and how cocky he is, but if they were the UFC middleweight champion of the world, they’d be walking around with absolutely supreme confidence and swagger. And rightly so!
@samsneadd2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Plus people have to consider where he was raised and where he is from. Cultural differences. To some it may seem cocky. But, he is not from here. Hell, even James Bond seems cocky af to the average American. When he just speaks the Queens English and has class.

Being in that zone is a pretty high level of performance. But when you’re opponent is in your head and knows what you’re thinking about doing. You have to go beyond that zone. Where you clear your mind and you just react and move without thinking. Pure instinct.
