God doesn't make mistakes? He made the tree of knowledge and he trusted that Adam and Eve wouldn't eat from it, creating the original sin. Jesus walked around correcting God's previous mistakes, and he was sacrificed to save humanity from its sins. The sins which were defined and sanctioned by God. When God reverts his own judgement/word, it means he made a mistake in the first place. According to Christian belief, God's chosen people are the ones who deny Jesus being the manifestation of God in the flesh and/or the messiah. That sounds like one hell of a mistake.
