It's unfair to put all the burden to minimize civilian casualties on Israel alone. Why not question Hamas about what they are doing to place civilians on safer áreas and also why not asking arab civilians why don't they let the IDF know whereabouts of Hamas tunnel entrances, rocket storage, rocket launching sites, terrorist communication centers, booby traps, decoys, terrorist identity,.etc.

There probably are some Palestinian civilians who have given intelligence information to the Israelis. And they aren't going to admit to that publicly because Hamas would almost certainly carry out a horrific reprisal against them and their families. As for those who don't give information to the Israelis, the logical answer is that many of those who might otherwise be inclined to do so might be afraid of reprisal, might not have a way to contact the Israelis (especially not without being witnessed doing so), and might not have any useful information.

It is a cruel fact that as Hamas is a government (of sorts), a ruling body, a non-state entity, and a terrorist organization all rolled into one, it doesn't answer to anyone even if it's using it's own people as cannon fodder. But as a nation-state and a democracy, Israel is held accountable and is expected to uphold international law (rightly so!). Assymetry in every sense of the word.

Considering the standards to which the media holds Gazans for warfare and violence, the standards for warfare and violence to which the world holds Israel are ridiculous. The double standard is the real racism and oppression. The poor, poor Gazans are not capable of holding their government, military, and imams to any standards about the conduct of war. But - heavens forbid! - should Israel follow standards in the conduct of war and fall short as they raid the military sites built above, on level with, and below hospitals, schools, and mosques in densely populated areas, with the consent of a Gazan public that agrees with their death cult government's charter...oh, no! What about the violence and cruelty that was bestowed upon the Palestinians when they were evicted and expelled from their own land in 1948 and ongoing ever since. @ShamanMcLamie
@ShamanMcLamie Жыл бұрын
Men as reasonable if not more so tried to make the peace process work and failed. Israeli Labor Party, which founded Israel and dominated it politically for decades, banked enormous political capital into the peace process with the Palestinians. After Oslo they allowed the Palestinians to form their own government and gave them complete control of Gaza and large portions of the West Bank. Israel even tore down all the Israeli settlements in the Gaza strip. The Israeli Labor Party offered them numerous peace deals where the Palestinians could set up their own state and most of the land in the 1967 Border. In the last offer they even offered the Palestinians East Jerusalem which was a big issue of contention. The Palestinians refused all of them because they aren't interested in peace. Then the violently anti-Israeli Hamas was elected, a second Intifada was launched against Israel and a Civil War between the PLO and Hamas in the Palestinian Territories broke out. This destroyed any hope for peace among the Israeli public. The Israeli Labor party and the Left in general was politically decimated as a result of this failure and Netanyahu and his Likud party have ruled near continuously since. Focusing more on containment of the Palestinians and taking advantage of the situation to gain more land for Israeli settlers. The fundamental problem is that the Palestinians are just not interested in peace. No leadership change in Israel is going to work until there is a cultural change among the Palestinians.

@ShamanMcLamie
@ShamanMcLamie Жыл бұрын
@@arak1973 What is fair exactly? I simply pointed out the Palestinians were offered a majority of the West Bank, all of Gaza and even some land concessions from the Israelis. In the 2008 proposal they were even offered most of East Jerusalem where as at Camp David they woyld only be allowed to set up their government there. The reason talks broke down was that the Palestinians wanted all of East Jerusalem, the 1967 borders and insisted on Right of Return which would decimate Israel demographically. Non of this is fair to Israel and jeopardizes their security and national integrity. The hard truth of the matter is that Israel has conquered the Palestinians and they could just dictate any terms they want to them, just as the allies did to Germany and Japan after World War II. The fact they offered that much would be a God send for any people so defeated. The problem is the Palestinians haven't accepted the fact they are beat. They're still fighting and holding out hope for victory. To them the purpose of peace negotiations isn't to establish a long standing peace, or even a Palestinian state. The PLO wasn't founded to opposs Egypt and Jordan who ruled over Gaza and the West Bank at the time. It was founded to end one particular country. Peace negotiations are meant to move pieces in place to advance the cause of ending their neighbor.

Seems that simple at first glance, but when you realize same commander should dismantle thousands of traps waiting for his ground troops because enemy didn't do oct. 7 without preparing defenses for retaliation. So if you don't bomb those defenses you are sending your ground troops into a bunch of traps, then weigh the potential loses of your troops against potential civilians on the enemy side, that's where the real moral math comes into play, they have to decide fast, before the military assets are moved. Without knowing intelligence that commander has it's very easy for us to sit and judge. Sad reality is that most countries with similar military capability would do something very similar (and have done). If someone claims they can do better, they probably have never even tried.

Very interesting interview. Stress on that the people aren't the enemy is central. Two States is the only way to go. There needs to be some hope offered to the Palestinians. One continous stretch of land with their administration would indeed be the creation of less tention overall

Hamas is an ideology as much as it is a military group. At this point I think Hamas is necessary to stop the colonialism and occupation of Israel in Palestine. Do not turn a blind eye to the fact that Israeli homesteader’s are evicting Palestinian people from their homes and lands. When is the honest conversation going to be had by the Arib Nation’s and the European countries?? I speak now as a Lakota woman who understands what the United States Military did to our people’s then put us on reservation’s. So let’s have an honest conversation about what Israel’s goal’s really want! Native’s stand with Palestine 🇵🇸 ✊🏽

The tone of the interview implicitly accuses Ami Ayalon of holding the policy stance of Bibi. This is an unfortunate mistake on the part of the interviewer. Ami is an outspoken former member of Israeli intelligence who validly criticizes every aspect of the PM's culpability in allowing the Hamas attack. It would surprise me if the interviewer is unaware of this but his questions repeatedly imply he thinks he is talking to Avigdor Lieberman or an ally of Netanyahu instead of the stark opposite. The interview could have been rich in substance if the interviewer had done better research or watched Ami speak with other journalists where his criticism of the Netanyahu government and policies is clear.

 @TormentalityNO ONE can ever destroy an idea by brute force or violence, not then, not now and not tomorrow----it's been 75 years of violence that was originally transferred from Europe to the North and North-north east of Africa and it did not start in 1948 or 1921 but in 1462 at the fall of the Al Andalusia and Granada and many other iterations ever since over the subsequent ages since.... Unless we break the seal of the unspoken COVENANTS of collective and systemic erasure, silence, deceit, racism and intellectual indoctrination the cycles of hatred and suspicions will keep manifesting in the 2 principle continents and the other that we created; Africa, Europa and Middle-East consistently and persistently..

The Israeli army are dropping a chemical similar to White Phosphorus on the people of Gaza. Children are attending hospital with deep burns and they are dying rapidly from the severity of the burns. A surgeon was on Irish Radio and he said a boy of 13 died and all they had to give him was aspirin!! The doctor was in a bad emotional condition as a result of the suffering he is witnessing.

Has God given to the son of man the freedom to pursue any narrative he so desires? Yes just like words matter. All words said from the mouth of a man will be ask a foundation. The perception that one person has towards an other person defines one's destiny. Hamas has judged it's neighbours with great hatred.(Oct.7), his destiny is sealed. What happen on October 7 are words from the mouth of Hamas. Consequences are about to happen and are happening.
