The tariffs shouldn't matter to the EU car companies. The US car companies are still sell low quality vehicles at a exorbitant rate and have been because of the greed. Now its catching up to them. EU car companies can reduce the profit margins a bit to cover for the tarrifs. Now I know that will never happen, they will just cry how they are not making tons and tons of money.

These numbers, while falling short of the Street’s whisper numbers, were enough for Tesla to become the world’s largest seller of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Q3 2024, exceeding Chinese automaker BYD.

Trump will increase tariffs on Asia to solve the trade deficit. The 1st priority is China, and the 2nd priority is to increase tariffs on Money Machine South Korea. According to Trump's remarks, South Korea's automobiles (cars, batteries, electric cars) are included in the tariffs, and tariffs will increase not only on semiconductors but also on steel, energy, and manufacturing. Due to US tariffs, American companies will have to move their factories from China to other countries. Japan of the G7 and Quad will impose low tariffs. Other Asian countries with less than $50 billion will negotiate.

Car markets behave like smartphone market, people wants a phone with plenty of features other than making phone calls and texting SMS. Now we know why European phone makers are not in the game anymore or are really weak player in the game; Siemens, Nokia, Ericsson You like it or not.. the market/consumers are the one that buying the stuff and you have to get with flow or you are out. Software is the one most consumers are focus on now days. and German cars are weak in software.

I agree that Europeans phone makers were slow to adapt thats why they failed then Microsoft also meddle with Nokia. About cars the Chinese are more into tech than most Europeans, for most Europeans Germans cars are expensive and most regular consumers just want a simple car that’s why the Dacia sandero is the best selling car in Europe saying that in ev’s Tesla is the bestseller and most have higher incomes or are business owners. To understand the car market fragmentation nowadays ,in my country 80% of new car sold were brought by companies that are less price sensitive compared to the average joe. The French are trying meanwhile the Germans especially vw are afraid of devaluing vw car prices to become again the people’s car and fighting against progress and thus aldo losing the Chinese market

If you do have a German automobile in Africa and at the same time is shattered for spare parts you have to contact Germany.. Which is funny and wasting of too much time and money!
