I grew up near Andrews Air Force. There were F- 4's as far as the eye could see. Back at that time they also kept B-52's. Once every couple months they would have a doomsday practice. Anything with wings had to be off the ground and under 15 to 20 minutes. When they did that at night nobody got any sleep. I remember when I first moved we saw an F-4 go in. Both pilots ejected and we were close enough just see the plane hit the ground 10 seconds. What a place to grow up!!! My father being a high-profile government employee got us tickets to see the hostages come in from Iran.

13:36 reminded me of TGM final dogfight between Mav and the unknown pilots when the flares hit the radar missile at some perfect timing. I suggest you for the 47th time a boss fight between the MiG-29 Fulcrum/Su-27 Flanker vs Su-57 Felon for a dogfight or mixed BVR scenario to test your pilot skills since you mentioned in that back in the old days, it probably means that pilot skills matter the most while the existing tech did less. Impress us GS! Keep making meaningful flight contents!

Fun story - in 2012 I got to see a four-ship formation of the last of the operational Israeli A-4s flying while touring in Israel. They were retired very shortly after. Presumably they were from the Flying Tigers squadron. They were flying so low and so fast I saw them before I heard them!

The IDF-AF were never big fans of the AIM-7--it was expensive, and not all that effective (at least, not until the M model). So it was not unusual for them to put an ECM pod in one Sparrow well (usually starboard forward), and sometimes a rearward facing BDA camera (port well forward), and only carrying two Sparrows in the after wells. This could free up the outboard wing pylons for additional air-to-ground ordnance, including an AGM-45 Shrike or two, or perhaps a couple of CBUs for FLAK suppression. By the latter half of the Yom Kippur War, the IDF tended to stay above 16,000 feet, and rely on a combination of Shrikes and jamming to defeat the SA-2, -3 and -6, because AAA, especially the ZUS-23-4 Shilka, was causing the majority of IDF losses.

Reminds me of my days when I got Jane's IAF. Good times!
Is there an F-4 sim that uses two players per jet, one pilot and a WSO? For AIM-7s lockons and IFF were done by the WSO, the pilot flew and kept the aim dot in the ASE (Allowable Steering Error) Circle, got Shoot lights, watched his Rmax/Rmin, selected Interlocks In, selected missile stations, turned on the CW transmitter which the missiles would tune to, and would fire an AIM-7 when parameters were met. A pilot could also shoot an AIM-7 using the Auto Acq function (nosewheel steering button)
