Well, most of us observers concluded early on that they intended this forever but would, bit by bit, take advantage of any and all opportunities that present themselves to carry the plan forward, however long it might take however haphazard the plan. Thank you, Owen. Excellent interview with an excellent guest expert. One thing that could have been mentioned: This has some aspects of a Palestinian war of independence (at least in Gaza). And wars of independence against a much stronger occupying enemy often involve horrific casualties, especially among civilians. Examples would include Algeria, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc. All of these had millions of dead before independence was finally achieved.
