My brother I think you would really like it. It’s right up your alley. It’s a good solid game, but vanguard is just a bit stronger.

I have both Stars of Akarios and ISS Vanguard, I haven't played Stars yet, but I have heard mixed reviews about it, but still looking forward to giving it a go. ISS Vanguard is good, but it does wear you down, my friend and I both have a copy and he played his copy at the same time and finished it, and ended up really disliking the game. We played my copy together. I think part of the problem was the 'he' was more focused on completing the story and I found the side planets more interesting than hitting the main story explorations all the time, so if someone is starting off then I would recommend not trying to hack through the main story so quickly and exploring a bit more. The side planets seemed to have more interesting stores and were more relaxed. ISS Vanguard can actually be completed quite quickly if you just go for the main story.

I have both. Actually playing Stars of Akarios. As a lover of star trek series, I really love the game, but it has some issues. I feel like I'm living an star trek adventure. I will play ISS Vanguard as soon as I finish Stars of Akarios.

I backed ISS Vanguard but haven't gotten around to learning the rules yet. Looking forward to getting into it as me and my friends love sci-fi games. Not sure if this can displace Space Corps though, still the king of space exploration.

I backed Stars of Akarios, throughout its development the story and how it fit together was its weakest element. I agree that it still is. Combat is by far the best part. Havent tried ISS Vanguard yet...
