Good review Brad, I was considering this. You saw the performance of my brand new echo gas with a new chain the other day.

This is the only Echo E Force tool I've heard of someone having an issue with. I'm considering a couple of Echo E Force tools in the near future

I have one, can I can tell you, it cuts off under strain. I have to remove the battery and put it back in, to run it again.

Brad, I’ll have a review video coming out soon of the same saw since some of my viewers asked for one. What I experienced with the saw cutting out is when it runs for long periods of cuttings the motor would get hot and shut down to protect it from overheating. I haven’t had the same issues as with the batteries like you but it’s possible you just got a bad batch.

Yeah I have heard batches of batteries can be problematic. I don't think I ran it enough to overheat it (if I did that would be sad. The only cut I did was the one log I showed cutting completely off the tree trunk). Looking forward to your video!

Bummer. I have the prototype dsrm 2600 string trimmer, have used it probably 3000 times since I’ve gotten it and it’s still going strong. The 56v blower is still working fine but cuts out every once in awhile. Hedge trimmer also works fine but hardly ever gets used. I did have a situation where two of my batteries crapped out a couple months in but ECHO replaced them.

Good feedback! Glad it works out well for you. Frustrating because it was an awesome chainsaw performance wise when it worked.

Had the same problem with the oil tank. The saw will stop when it gets hot after long periods of cutting.

Mine has had 2 batteries replaced now another one has failed! Also the chain needs attention constantly. But I like the saw.

I have experienced similar issues with my Echo 58 volt chainsaw. It’s about 8 years old and the problems are always temperature related. (Except for the 58 volt batteries, they can discharge to far and won’t charge because the charger won’t recognize them) I’m not certain (because I don’t have that exact saw) but I believe the battery is overheating. I’m guessing that maybe they tried to fix the problem with the 58 volt batteries overheating and burning out by putting an overly sensitive thermal protection in the battery.

Try making cut after cut with logs that are almost as wide as the bar. I like my little 1 handed 6 inch mini chainsaw the best for small stuff. Anything beyond that I get the gas saws out.

I won’t be buying a Echo battery flop! What did the dealer tell you? Wasn’t it covered under warranty?

Wow that’s terrible. I have been using the 56v system for about a year now so far so good. Only issue I’ve had is one of my 2600 power heads occasionally will cut out and give me an error message I have to turn it off and back on again and then it’s fine. It started doing this after it got rained on really heavy. I dried it out but still. Other than that, no issues. The dcs5000 chainsaw is my newest tool I’ve only used it a handful of times.

I am hoping mine was a freak glitch of being a prototype. I think you will love it performance wise, it is awesome!

@@CopperCreekCuts hopefully so. I’m hoping to soon get my hands on the 56v backpack blower! So far I like the chainsaw a lot, cuts really great and isn’t to heavy and love not having to pull start it. I don’t do a lot of heavy tree work, so it’ll be perfect for what I do.

Surprisingly, I own a ton of echo power tools. Never had one problem with any of the 7 power tools. I know any echo dealer will warranty it. Send it back for a repair or replacement

@@CopperCreekCuts I would still try and contact Echo. They are a stand up company. They might trade it out for you.

Ask for a replacement and tell them you'll make a new video showing that it was just a defective unit.

I have the Stihl MSA300, MSA220C, 161T, GTA 26, BGA86 air Blower and the Trimmer 135, I have used all this quite heavier probably beyond manufacturers recommendation never have any considerable problem with machines. The machines are great, battery technology still light years away for professional use. I have 14 different capacity batteries from AP200 to AP500S. In my case just to bad the batteries not give enough working time between recharges, kind like have a Mustang GT with gas tank in the reserve.

You killed it because you did not stopped working with it. If it stopps and you still have battery, its because the saw is too hot!! The problem is that you can restart it even it is still too hot! There should be some feature not to be able to restart when its overheated! So you will end up to blow up the motor!!
