I am foreigner visiting Turkey for 40 years. I can assure you that the food in Turkey 3 decades ago was much much tastier. Quality of ingredients is important, and that quality unfortunately much declined because of industrial production, hormons, all kind of agricultural poisons etc. Tomatoes by example were almost fabulous in the past. Today it is difficult to find a tasty one. So I am glad you enjoy what you eat, but at average the Turkish kitchen is nothing to what it once once, at least i mu humble opinion ...

You should try Ankara Tava, Ankara style döner, Aspava, Kayseri Yağlama, too. Turkish aromatic sodas like Çamlıca brand are good quality. Beyoğlu soda is also good. These big crunchy lokma is catchy even when watching. I love Italian pasta, risotto and pizza too. Panna cotta, tiramisu, etc. Will try cannoli, sfogliatella.

@@HaraldSjellose maalesef demek zorundayım ki günümüz şartlarında az. Malûm elektrik, gaz faturaları ortadayken ve şuan normal market kavurmasının bile kilosu 150 TL iken böylesi bir esnaf lokantasında bu fiyatın olması normale kaçıyor. Tabi burada aslında önemli olan bu fiyat değil, genel olarak alt tabakanın alım gücünün iyi olması. maalesef bu denge oluşturulamadığı için sıkıntı çıkıyor.
