Thanks. I have an 02 f150 supercrew cab and ran into a wire length issue. Your additional experiment helped make my decision. Thanks for taking the time to name this video.

Shut the tailgate door when testing! You’ll find the wireless units don’t work as well with the metal doors blocking the signal. Hard wired units work the same when the doors are opened or closed. When installing the wireless version you may have to experiment with the placement of the transmitter. You tested both vehicles with the tailgate opened (without obstruction to the wireless signal) which is why the manufacturer includes the long extra wires because the wireless versions can be fussy when installing. Good job presenting your work!

Thousanddollarcarguy, wondering if you have thought about hooking the camera on a trailer and seeing if that works also? I habe a 27 ft camp trailer and a ext cab pickup. Im wanting something i can put behind my camp trailer. Also you mentioned in beginning of video the yellow wire was for 2nd camera, so you can habe another camera hooked up in the loom?
@thousanddollarcarguy3 жыл бұрын
This one could do exactly that. I believe it can transmit the signal wirelessly over like 60ft. And if i remember it can take an additional input signal. So yes 2 video signals but you just need to switch between them for which one you want

Was the title wrong? It stated "wireless" I would take that to mean no wires.
@paristo Жыл бұрын
Wireless as in no wires between the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) units, that are connected then to their corresponding ends of devices (camera and display). This means, you don't need to run wire from rear of the car, all the way to front of the car. The another point is that you can overcome complex joints, like trailer hook where you would need to connect the wire each time you connect trailer. This allows you to run your camera behind trailer and send signal to back of your car or even front of the car, overcoming the connection between car and trailer. You likely can as well combine multiple of these to create a complex network of cameras around your cameras, controlling them with a switches that what you are wanted to display on the monitor. As in three two-position switches, where you can have four cameras installed, two to front corner bumpers, and two to rear like your car and trailer. And with three switches you choose with center that is signal from front or from rear, and then two other you choose is it either left/right or car/trailer. This way you can safely park in challenging scenarios where you otherwise would need to have someone guiding you.

Hi. Little help, can we connect the receiver cables to fuse box with add a circuit fuse plug and the other cable to ground? I dont wanna use cigarette lighters port
@thousanddollarcarguy4 жыл бұрын
Yes you just need somewhere that has a constant power with the key in the on position. You dont want it draining your battery overnight.

@@thousanddollarcarguy ok. So i decided to connect it to the ignition or the cigarette lighters fuse. Will that work? I dont have this knowledge much and i bought a cheap wireless camera, installed camera and now waiting to install this monitor once im sure. So please help me out.
@thousanddollarcarguy4 жыл бұрын
@@Ashok-jp8if cigarette lighter fuse is the same as 12v. But is the camera or the screen hooked to that? The screen should only get power when the car goes into reverse.

@thousanddollarcarguy5 жыл бұрын
A friend of mine installed the wored version with the same av inputs into his double din. I imagine it would work. I also imagine you will need it feeding i to the back up camera ports on the double din. Probably also need some sort of trigger wire to tell the double din to switch inputs. But to answer your question. Yes it should work

Some states, especially Texas and Florida will stop a driver and ticket them for having anything on the license plate and anything attached to the windshield. shame on both states.

I spent Thousands of $$$$$$ in Tx. on tickets. 55 mph for trucks at night. The entire time those Stiffback's were writing their ticket I'd let them know their ticket was a drop in the bucket for my hi dollar freight I pulled and all they had done was cost me a few minutes of time. Also let them know I had prepaid lawyers who took care of their waisted time. I loved to watch their jaw muscles twitch. The funny thing now is that I haven't had to pull a load since I was 35 years old and retired then and they're still up all night getting older for low pay.
