My experience converting an Isuzu 2.6 from ITEC fuel injection to carburetion using the complete intake, carburetor and distributor from a 2.3 Trooper, pickup, etc Many thanks to Planetisuzoo's member "Shooter" for providing the step by step "How TO"... This really cut out all the hard work and MAN, do I really appreciate that.

Hi mate did u hook up the return line at all. Ive got a 2.6 efi engine tht im putting back to caby and the return line is going to be my main issue

any '86-'87 Trooper or carb'd 2.3 pickup from like '86-'94 or so... some amigos were carb'd too

to swap a complete engine 2.3 4zd1 with carb and fit 2.6 4ze1 ,if i put the manifold and the carb from the 2,3 on to the 2,6 is the only swap i have to make? ...gear box ,starter, distributer connector (can i put the distributer from the 2.3 on to the 2.6? )....... engine bay brackets are all ok and direct fit with out any mod ?

hope you still heck this.. you show the green and black wire going the distributor but where does the other wire go? The plug has 2 wire one is red and black where does that go? Also the coil, there are 2 wires there also.

The 2 distributor wires go directly to the coil. The coil doesn’t care which polarity. From the coil an identical pair of wires coming from the same plug-connectors go to (1) ignition (usually red) and the other (2) goes to the tachometer wire (3 locations to chose from)

Is the exhaust manifold side on the 2.3 and the 2.6 head the same? The reason I'm asking is the aftermarket headers I'm finding on eBay are cheaper for the 2.6 but they look identical. Mine is a 2.3

I'm dealing with Pierce manifolds. They're arguing with me about the adapter plate from intake to carb. they want to give me a 38 4 my pickup which apparently comes with the adapter plate that I need. but I ordered a 32/36 that they suggest for a trooper. the adapter plate is incorrect for the manifold on my 2.3 pick up. so I doubt it would work for a trooper because I assumed it would have the same manifold. I didn't want to order the 38 because everyone in my research who has tried a 38 ended up going back to a 32/36 because the 38 was too big. did they screw up or did I screw up? I can't find the correct adapter plate for my 2.3 to a 32/36 4 less than 60 bucks

The carburetor is much more reliable, simpler and less problematic. More responsive and better mileage..

Needs to be very low pressure like 1-4 lbs. 5 is too much
