Isuzu X-Rider Doublecab (2020) Long-Term Review - Dark Horsepower!

It’s as South African as the braai, keoksisters and boerewors itself, it’s the Isuzu X-Rider doublecab and it represents a true all-rounding sense of Dark Horsepower!

What is it?
Initially, Isuzu offered the X-Rider as a mean-looking limited edition vehicle from the brand, however, Isuzu quickly realised that the X-Rider demand was mounting and now the X-Rider very much forms part of the brands doublecab offering.
From the outside, it is immediately striking, a blend of 18-inch blackened alloy wheels, black roof rails, red Isuzu badging all add up to what is certainly one of the toughest image bakkies on the market, and it’s so much more than just an image!
The Drive
In true Isuzu sense, the X-Rider feels like a true workhorse come leisure lifestyle doublecab vehicle. Combining the ability to tow a 2.1-tonne braked trailer, handle 750kg of weight on the rear load bed and handle the offroad rough stuff. With impressive ride height, and available locking differential and Isuzu’s tried and tested 2.5-litre turbodiesel motor, no obstacle is unconquerable.
I spent several weeks exploring many kilometres in the X-Rider and found the turbodiesel motor with 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque available from a low 1800 rpm to be an incredibly solid powerplant. With power available from low within the range, and a steady wave of power, the X-Rider performs well both on and off the road.
Safety, Comfort & Luxury
With a dark leather interior, X-Rider badging stitched into the headrests, “X” logo’s on the door panels and a central 8-inch touch screen display taking centre stage within the dashboard, the X-Rider is smart as well as being tough. The multimedia system is able to screen mirror, which allows for the ability to utilise all your smartphones media and mirror it to the display. Bluetooth, steering-wheel-mounted controls, air-conditioning and an array of safety systems are also available.
From Electronic-Force Distribution (EFD), Brake-Assist System (BAS), Electronic-Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist and Hill-Descent Control to driver and passenger airbags and ISOFIX child mounting points, the X-Rider is a true family all-rounding doublecab bakkie.
To Conclude
I thoroughly enjoyed my festive season driving the Isuzu X-Rider. Embodying strength with ability, luxury with style, the X-Rider is a true statement of dark horsepower which is with you for the long run.

I just traded my 2020 Black edition in for the new model X-Rider. It will be missed. The new model has addressed a lot of the small issues such as immobilizer, lockable tail gate, better rear camera, diff lock as standard and the finishes are so much better.

Dude, how much do they pay you? To talk about Isuzu and Mahindra... Butter could really melt in your mouth... Not to complain, but both of the above are pretty good vehicles. Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger are just too expensive unless one has alot of money to burn.

A voiceover is more commonly considered as audio that's been recorded separately, read from a script, and then applied to the final composition. He just made his life simpler by using the audio that was already available and transitions to the visuals, and it's perfectly audible so why bother with proper voiceovers? He's not selling you an album, he's doing a review. You should know by now (even though your vids are bland) that making studio quality content for YT is not easy nor quick, it's tedious and takes a lot more effort than the average consumer thinks it would.

@@TypeZA Ahh-ha! Ok then, my apologies, sounded like you were trolling.. Yes that's tire noise but it also sounds like some rattling going on... Or it's the engine I'm hearing but ja, Omnidirectional mics pick up everything, I personally prefer Unidirectional.
