As a Revs fan, I absolutely loved the Bruce Arena years. He took over a flailing franchise and turned them around immediately. They continued to improve each year until their supporter's shield season. As soon as he left, they went in the trash again. You're going to appreciate him, Earthquakes fans.

💯 this! After the departure of Stevie Nicol the team was floundering under the direction of an unproven Jay Heaps who had no real experience previously other than being a player for the club and Brad Friedel who was.... not good. There were also issues in the front office and the hiring of Bruce solved both issues. He turned the team around and made them a cohesive unit that was better than the sum of their individual parts, something that neither of the interim managers which followed nor Caleb Porter were able to figure out at all. He will do a lot to turn San Jose around so they are extremely luck to have him.

Figure out a way to get Tsakiris on the field more. He has talent in that left foot.

I’m looking forward to his tenure, it’s been very pitiful as a quakes fan for the past decade

Quakes will never improve for real unless Fisher sells the team.

MLS is controlled and run by a bunch of NFL guys who wants to control soccer growth in the US. These NFL guys make sure US soccer growth does not interfere with the NFL revenues. MLS get 2.5 billion from apple and has a chance to improve the quality by increasing the salary cap but didn’t. Why is that? These NFL guys deliberately keep MLS at a mediocre level. I came to this conclusion after Messi arrived. MLS is a joke league. I hope a few billionaires can invest in USL and upgrade USL to major league status so we can have a true top tier league.
