At 27:15 when Sakurai says, “Stay where you belong, behind those doors”, his wording is exactly like how Cloud tells Sephiroth, “Stay where you belong, in my memories” in Advent Children’s Japanese dialogue. You can tell that Sakurai loves games just as much as we all do, which is how he accomplished this impossible acquisition, and I think he deserves all the respect in the world for that :’)

EDIT: So I just saw an article in which Sakurai stated that this trailer was altered because originally, Mario was supposed to flat out summon the Keyblade instead of him reaching into the fire.

@@lewisjones9623 Waluigi (coming full circle), Skull Kid AKA Majora (could be a really creative magical user akin to Hero but without the sword), Ryu Hayabusa (Resident Swordfighter), Sans from Undertale (why do I hear boss music?), Doom Guy (for Isabelle.... and because we need a ranged character), Geralt of Rivea (another sword fighter), Ezio (no more sword fighters!), Tom Nook (pay me then), Dante (this sword fighter gets a pass), Chun-Li (that's more like it), Toad (always OP), Mew (Mewtwo can have a Cloud witnessing Sephiroth moment in the reveal. Except it would likely be more awe than fear). Virgil (The real Cloud (Dante) vs Sephiroth (Virgil) moment). There are so many possibilities for an open invitation video game crossover franchise. If we ever get a new Smash, you can bet fans will not be starved for ideas. And who knows what games that haven't been made yet we'll be able to pull from. It's gonna be years if it does happen anyways.

Kingdom Hearts was inspired by Mario 64. And Yoko Shimomura composed the osts for Kingdom Hearts and the Mario and Luigi RPGs (my fav game series ever!) Seeing Mario shaking Sora’s hand, there could not have been a more fitting image to end Smash Ultimate.

Dude, if it tells you anything, I was happy to be proven wrong. I was one of the doubters. I started out like Nico did in the beginning of the video. I was one of the people who was thinking he wasn’t going to be in. Hell… I kept telling people who were saying he would get in, to stop thinking that. I will say, Nico was the one who introduced me to Kingdom Hearts. A couple of months ago, I was curious about the franchise, so I decided to watch his playthrough of the various games. Afterward, I ended up playing them myself, I actually just got done with Data Siax from Kh3. Then this announcement came out. If I hadn’t watch Nico’s playthroughs, I would have been happy, but not overjoyed. However, I can safely share Nico’s excitement, all because he helped introduce it to me.

I was on the same boat as you Nico. As much as I really wanted Sora, I was pretty much resigned that it probably wasn't going to happen. I honestly thought we were going to get a character to promote a game coming out for the switch to boost sales. (Not that's a bad thing) I honestly believe it wouldn't happen. I have never been SO HAPPY to be wrong. I was on the verge of crying when my brain finally clicked that single moment where the keyblade was revealed. Then it finally hit me, it was happening. Sora was truly finally here! I can't thank Sakurai, Nintendo, SE, Nomura and even Disney enough. Thank you to every last one of them, mostly Sakurai and Nintendo since I can't even begin to imagine what they had to deal with to make this happen. I'm just so happy. I was planning to get into the series but college got in the way of my really having the time to grind and play for myself and btw I already saw your Nier Rep and Automata gameplay and they were the best. You do not know how much I loved the series because of your funny commentary and hilarious personality. To see a someone also express their opinions and emotions throughout the series really made the playthroughs more amazing. You saved me from my most darkest moments. Honestly the most scariest time of my life and I really wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for me willing to keep binging the playthroughs in under four months.
