There is a script called "gravity aligner", that could help you automatically stabilize your drill

That canyon looks like wheels would be a bad idea unless you plan to build a mountain goat with massive saddlebags. But honestly, i think i an just too excited looking forward to comparing launch day and hoping you might come up with a recreation of your gravel disposal habit from back then. Hello, glad to see you on SE again. And a suggestion for miners and specially vertical ones, maybe you find fun and useful the ExcavOS script by GThoro. Among a lot of things it includes a gravity align function, and if it have a lot of options the defaults seem to be excellent (I think that I customized nothing). Anyway thanks for getting back on things, and waiting for the next.

I totally remember the MBT! Just got back into playing some myself. I agreed with Kumpel Kumplowski. There is a "gravity aligner" script, that you can use. It uses one special gyro to be set up to keep the ship aligned with gravity. I have one on Horizontal miner I built. I suggest you build a long-range medium cargo ship; you're going to need the space for trades.

One suggestion is while drilling override the gyros. Also a mod you might find helpful if your on a planet with atmosphere would be stackable wind turbines. Also glad to see this.

Long Range Flyer. Maybe a type of "fast" plane, that still has wheels but also flies..... (Duh Nicholas).. It's called a plane!!! I had to leave that comment as I typed it out, then just laughed at myself.

Actually, that's a good idea. I've made other designs like that and they tend to work pretty well. Wheels = less power consumption, flying = getting over mountains and canyons easier.

Wait, is that the same tree and the same rover from episode 1 of the original series but updated? Neat! I can't believe it's been 5 years... Back then I was a bright-eyed kid just finishing up Bible College and now I've a got a bachelor's degree. Where does the time go? It's good to see you back man. Edit: as for transport, I think it would be interesting to see you build a large vehicle. I've always liked seeing people build mobile base rovers because you can make them really interesting designwise in a way which is different from the spacecraft. If you do decide to build an aircraft, I'd suggest something like a one man fighter jet, or an industrial transport might be a better theme.

I'm all for efficiency. And a small, fast and easy flyer is heaps better than a wheeled vehicle especially with this kinda terrain ahead. UNLESS you want a challange plus you could scout for ore veins in that general direction with a wheeled vehicle. Its really your choice, but checking out the station is definitely a must. I mean you got alot of space bucks flying around, so why not use them?

Yeah, having a day-job makes it nearly impossible to record with Cosmic these days. We still hang out when we can, but a good long recording session is out of the question.

I have several other series that start from scratch, if you're interested. Delicious engineering would be your best bet if you want to see the starting struggle. In that one I start on an ice planet and it takes quite a few episodes before I'm able to make much of anything.
