Pro tip: after finishing a raid, queue for a follower dungeon and leave. You wont get the deserter debuff since you're the only player and it will port you at the entrance of the raid you just left.

In the Warbands Preview page on WoW's website, it says: "Existing gear in your character-level bank or bag inventory will be automatically added to your transmog collection when you first log into that character.". I assume that would also include items from your mailbox looted. I clean my bags/mailbox out at every new expac. So I'll probably just do this but keep all my transmog items in my bank/bags to be safe!

In the beta any piece I had in my bank that wasn't unable to learn because of the armor class in retail, I was able to learn it when I were it.

on TWW beta, when you first load to a character, news screen says 30th of July for Pre-patch lauch day. No pictures are loaded but it says its on 30th with text can be a place holder...

The information is correct, but what we glean from it is up for debate. Why would it say that the event begins the 30th when it's on the same day of the patch? Wouldn't it instead say "Now available"? So it doesn't read so much as a placeholder to me.

so in 11.0, you can now collect every gear for your account....but we are still limited to using only that the classes armor?....ie cloth can still only mog to cloth, etc

When items are in the mailbox you dont' technically have them yet. You can easily test this on live realms by finding an appearance that you don't already have from a boss drop and not loot it. Only when you grab it from the mailbox is when you unlock the appearance.

Wait, I just had the Tusks drop on my Lock as I've been farming Garrosh throughout Remix. So if it's in my Lock's bag, my plate wearers won't have them available when prepatch drops?

Thanks so much for the reply! The way I've approached Remix is to run toons up to 70, get all the goodies with the bronze earned and then start another alt. With SoO M on a daily lockout, it's just easier for me to run my max level retail toons through the raid since you can skip straight to Garrosh.

If you have the tusks now on your lock, it'll be available on your plate wearers in the patch. You're good to go!

Hey soul, im a returning player and a bit unfamiliar with how things work i tested not looting anything while doing dungeons and i didnt get most stuff in the mailbox so how does it work? Also will BoP become tradeable at prepatch? Im a little unclear on how this will all work thanks!

Without knowing all your information, I'll speak generally: This sort of farm for old transmog involves farming old dungeons and raids from Battle for Azeroth and older expansions. When defeating these bosses, if you don't loot the boss corpses, many of the items will be sent to your mailbox. It's a protection for those moments where you somehow can't go back and loot a boss you legitimately killed. BoP items will not be tradeable in the prepatch; if they're bound, they're bound. This farm is centered around unlocking appearances that come from these drops.

Given that class items are not going to be collectable that way, vanilla raids (i.e. Molten Core and Blackwing Lair) barely benefit from the changes as all set items are class specific and don't use a token there. BFA should be the easiest with no class specific stuff. Also Siege of Orgrimmar had been changed so it's not soloable (due to MoP: Remix). On the flip side the daily logout from Remix also applies to Retail - my Alt army beat those Garrosh on a daily basis for the Tusks before bronze drops were buffed.

Tier tokens yes, currently class drops don't unlock but if they changed their mind on tokens I don't see a reason why they wouldn't change their mind on direct drops. Might be something that they'll do but doesn't make it for launch but we've still got 2 months to go

Sorry I misworded. I'll clarify: Yes you can trade tier tokens to other characters. Currently no, gear that drops from MC/Antorus that is already class specific can't be unlocked unless it's the same class. For now at least.

There is a new bug in Remix. Some players somehow have Dragonflight rings and trinkets that have an ilvl of 490+

Sooo, transmog farming. I’m curious to know whether you actually look at the gear you’re aiming to collect and think yes I’d really like that item, it would look great on my priest, hunter etc. It seems to me that this is more an exercise in collecting all the things for the sake of it regardless of whether you actually value the item for the transmog. This also seems to be the approach for MOP remix, where you gotta just have it all regardless of whether you’ll actually use it for transmog. For me I don’t have the play time to collect all the things, so I target items I know I specifically want to mog on one of my alts. This makes the whole thing a lot more manageable.

Correct! There're lots of ways to approach the great farm. If there's a certain something you want you can just sic your whole alt army for a certain drop and keep at it until you find it, and do whatever you like with the other drops (save in mailbox, hold onto or vendor right away). Only difference is that now all of your available alts can help, not just ones that use a certain weapon/armor type.

Yeah, we go hard at things now so we have more time left over to do the TWW content when it's released I wasn't going to farm transmog all but Remix activated The Collector so all active toons I play sav boe's in their banks. The mail strat will be used later once I've decided which set (team of alts) I'll use specifically This is written by someone that really doesn't care much. Simple looking is the best for me. Easier ± looks more unique IMO Enjoy the ride!

The splash screen on the prepatch PTR says the event starts on the 30th, which indicates it won't be live when the patch goes live. So this hints the patch will actually be the week before on the 23rd, which also matches up with several other things ending, like some options on the store being removed.

I love the transmog system compared to not having it when it didn't exist. I enjoy changing the look of my character without changing gear. I remember always looking like shit back in the day because I wore gear from different tier sets and quest gears. Having the ability to collect any type of gear for your Warband is a plus for me.

As someone that has been playing since Vanilla, there certainly is a charm when there’s a difference between peasants and elite players wearing full Ten Storms in Orgrimmar. But honestly it’s better this way with transmog for everyone.
