I watched this storm yesterday and it hit earlier than expected and moved through quickly. I think it gained some momentum after it left the Dallas area - which is why it hit sooner than expected.

I have seen clouds like that many of times here in Georgia and most of that is just scud clouds according to my local meteorologist. Most of the time the boundary outflow of a storm is worse than the actual storm. I am definitely a weather nerd head sometimes.

Last storm we had like that came so fast and it felt scary. Kids were out playing in the yard… oblivious to all except their game of course. I was doing yard work when I looked up and saw the clouds moving like they were going to collide. It gave such an ominous feeling.. I suppose it would be the same feeling the “alive” people get in a zombie apocalypse movie when realizing the 💩poo is actually hitting the fan. I walked out into yard looking up at the clouds when a dove 🕊️ flew up not far in front of me. Once it was about double the height of the power lines it stopped moving forward even though it was flapping so hard to keep going. When I saw the dove being blown backwards I started yelling for the kids to get to the porch. I’m sure I looked crazy (because that’s how they were looking at me). One of those ‘Mom’s lost her marbles for sure!’. Within moments the beautiful day was gone replaced by sideways wind, rain, and hail. My kids then concluded I also obtain the power of seeing the future amongst my other super powers that keeps them from getting anything past me they shouldn’t be doing.🤪🤣 All that being my long winded way of saying, When you see clouds moving like that it’s about to get wild. Prayers for everyone going through all this dangerous weather.❤

I follow Ryan Hall on KZbin. One of the best meteorologists out there. Found him during another channel's video, out in West Virginia, when a storm rolled in, and you could hear them listening to Andy Hill, someone who works with Ryan. It's strange, because I have lived on the west coast all of my life, and we typically don't get severe weather. But I have a fascination with this type of weather. I keep up on all of Ryan's videos, watching to see if any of the storms have the potential to impact y'all. I appreciate you showing the storms. Morning Jami. The movement of the clouds was the scariest I think and then the scud came down but didn't reach the ground which was a good thing. The dipping cloud wasn't rotating, so not a funnel cloud, just a scary looking cloud. This storm did cause some tornados in DFW area.

I recognize that cloud type. My mom used to look out the big front window during storms. We grew up on the Canadian prairies and she went through the dirty 30’s as they called it. Little to no rain or snow for a few years and mini dust tornadoes would come with these storms. No rain, just powerful winds taking away the soil. She grew up in that and it’s scary to think 90 years we still can’t prevent any of this. But then humans have h no ever been able to do anything against the force of nature. It’s just trying to adjust itself back where it needs to be but not in a slower pace. Just full on go, go, oh no.

I was off yesterday and I was watching the radar for your area, and I think that after it left the Dallas area, it picked up momentum and came through earlier than expected. I do believe that y'all have an army of angels 😇 watching over all 3 places, and they're going to do whatever they can to keep you guys safe 💜 I really do feel for Danny boy - it looked like he was starting to get past his PTSD - I just hope that at some point he does feel comfortable going into 1 of the shelters 🙏 So thankful that that round is over with - now to get through the next 3 days 🙏🙏🙏 Take care, stay safe 🙏 and have a gr-8 day 😊!

High winds scare the heck out of me. I live in Tennessee one year we had a real bad storm when my daughter was a baby. We were driving home and a telephone pole fell down right in front of us. We had to back up and go back to my mother-in-law's as fast as we could. Ever since I've been scared to death of high winds

Whoa Jami! That wasn't just a wind storm. That was a tornado, especially when you said about the motion of the cloud in different directions and the strong wind. Once in a while, we here in the northeast tristate region of NY, NJ and Connecticut we get those kinds of winds and on the counties of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, upstate NY and NJ we get tornadoes and tornado type storms. Not so much in the five boroughs of NYC though. We do get some strong rainstorms once in a while particularly when it gets really hot and humid. Very scary and dangerous indeed. Stay safe and keep the animals safe as well.

We got hit by so many summer tornadoes when I was a kid you would be outside playing one minute and then those storms would come in and the world changed, but I miss it. Jami, in Tennessee where I live, we’ve been going through this once and sometimes twice a week. I can’t tell you how many times Weve had to go into our storm shelter. It’s scary but Count your blessings that it doesn’t happen as often for you.
