@theredproxy do not get me wrong, the flint hills are gorgeous, the lakes are lovely, but in my hometown the smell of cattle is opressive in summar and the amber waves are actualy red milo. i live in wichita now, and the only thing i miss is the sky. nothing is as iconic of my youth as sitting on my grandparents' deck and looking up at the Milky Way or on the back porch and watching a storm roll in. but this state is a black hole and everyone here knows it. its nearly impossable to leave once you're here, and the sports and religiousness make it uncomfortable for an athiest who loaths sports

18:42, some of the reasons I have always wanted to be able to shape-shift are so I could photosynthesise with my skin, make myself look more like those characters that I have massive thetes on and gender envy of, and become whatever animal or hybrid I want, like a boy with cat claws or wings. Theoretically, I could also shape-shift to a younger and healthier version of myself anytime I wanted so unless I genuinely wanted to end, I would not need to. I could just stay around for decades in random cities, just learning the languages and cultures and absorb all the information I want since I could just become a fly or lizard and break into university libraries, nick a book, and just read.

I remember this dude made a Call of Cthulhu campaign with some friends and planned an entire long scene inside a maze, only for them to get to the door and literally go “nope”. The DM did so the bad guys cornered them so they would have to get inside the maze to escape, but they just. Just. Fought the bad guys. Unarmed. The party’s dog died. They escaped through the vents after exploding the bad guys. One of the bad guys was an important character for a later scene.
