Actually, the words "seemly" and "touchy" help us conclude that the most ordinary object is nice to look at but is very loud and also stinks. It's fun to touch though, and it tastes great. Therefore, the most ordinary object according to the English language... ...is a chicken.

I’m ND and my mom never taught me how to human in public. I also have no sense of color coordination or fashion because my mom never taught me, so when I started dressing myself, I dressed weird. My mom would say things like “I didn’t raise you to act this way” or “I don’t want people thinking I raised you to leave the house looking like that” and I would just think “well you didn’t raise me to act and dress any other way, so…”

What's with parents never teaching their kids how to human and then complaining about it when the kid grows up as if they did anything to deserve to complain? My parents never taught me like.... How to communicate, or how to manage emotions healthily (at least to the extent that I now know some parents can teach their kids, which is "when you feel like this it's ok to do [this], and then it's not ok to do [that], because ___") and then has the audacity to get shocked and upset when I can't freaking communicate with them "normally", like no duh you never taught me what tf your normal communication even was! How am I supposed to know what I've never been taught?!
@alexismyers6053
@alexismyers6053 Жыл бұрын
@@lutzgeier1109 exactly! I wasn’t taught how to healthily express my feelings, but I was left to watch Animal Planet with no real restrictions. So rather than learn how to show emotions like a human, I learned how animals do it and then started doing that. I would purr and meow like a cat when I was happy, growl or bark like a dog when I was angry, make meerkat noises just because I felt like it, and other animals sounds to express my feelings. My sister and I were the only kids in our family and there weren’t any kids my age that lived close enough for my mom to want to bother to set up play dates, so there was no one to teach me that that wasn’t the proper way to do things. In elementary school, it was confined to recess playing, but in middle school I started to get bullied so I did it much more around other people. My mom ALWAYS yelled at me for it and even threatened to send to me a mental hospital to ‘figure out what’s wrong with you and fix it.” What’s wrong is I have no adults in my life who care enough about me to give a damn! Part of why I was bullied at school was because I was the “weird girl” and I was the “weird girl” because I wasn’t taught how to act properly. And when I was home, I was bullied even more by my own family because I was “weird.” And Animal Planet was my escape from all the stress and negativity. I liked pretending I was one of the animals in the documentary, just living a peaceful life without others telling acting like I’m the problem. I stopped with the animals noises in 8th grade when I was put in a partial hospitalization progress at another school and the therapists taught me how to human correctly. Who would have thought that was all it took, right?

@@alexismyers6053 in my case I just get silent and bottle up my emotions, like I don't know how to express my emotions so I just.... Didn't. I only learnt how to at least regulate my emotions by singing every time I'm stressed and that was only after I'd gotten my own room in recent years because I'd get yelled at if I do practically anything that they could take as "disruptive" in front of my parents, also my parents are religious so I'd faster get taken to be exorcised than get any mental help for any problems..... Doesn't help that I might have either DID or OSDD which they've definitely mistaken for demonic possession before :) hate it here Seriously, why does some parents think that it's enough to raise their kids only by providing them with the material means to live (food, housing, clothes, money) and not think that kids are human beings who needs guidance on how to function as a human? Jesus Christ on a flaming bike....

I just kinda copied what my environment did. So now I act certain ways around family and friends. Like a custom persona for each circumstance (So when I get into a new environment I adopt a new persona) and once I'm comfy and people know me better, the persone slightly melts off and reveals the true me. Copying people helps me mask and "blend in", noone taught me. Also I have to note I'm not diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I'm not Neurotypical.

Hell, what're their hobbies? Do they like gaming and/or animating? I'll vibe for 10 hours if they like similar things. Hell, I'll befriend 'em and regularly chat to them like any other friend. I bet they'd be really good at some of the games I play thanks to natural instinct. Edit: 16:09 I feel very called out regarding how I thought about that previous werewolf post.

Why do I need help surviving 10 minutes with a werewolf for not thinking we’re in a fight? I’m assuming we’re in a bubbly lake and are simply trying to help each other not drown by taking turns standing on the bottom and holding the other on the surface, trading off by tapping out whenever we either can’t hold it any longer or are ready to go back down the hold the other where they can breathe The constant bubbles make it so you can’t swim btw, you sink like a rock. That’s how some ships sink, a methane bubble is released from the sea floor and the churning air filled water no longer has the surface tension to hold up the ship

21:12 I disagree got the default smell is bad and the default of noise is also bad. You can have a really good smell, but if it's too much of a smelling overpowering, that good smell become smelly, just like you can have a very pleasant sound, but if it's too loud or too much, it becomes noisy. It's not about the default state, it's about a measurement. Just like taste. Taste of such a complex thing that you can't even really have a baseline to describe it. Everything typically has a taste, meaning that it's okay. But unlike the excess of sound or smell, generally the excess of taste hit your dopamines and you interpret that as a good thing - therefore, the excess of taste is tasty.
