Hi Del, good job as always, on a side note the oven will need to be under an extraction canopy, I know that model and it will have a steam cooking mode and also a cleaning mode, both produce a lot of steam that will easily fill that area, the only alternative is to fit an ultra vent canopy on top of the oven.

Hi del nice video.I would have run the tray down to the trunking
@trespire Жыл бұрын
A trick I picked up when working in steel trunking, after cutting it to length, as staight 90 degrees as possible, use the angle grinder with a light preassure, to smooth the end eaven. If the grinder is keeped perfectly straight to the edge, it will leave one continous burr hanging on by a thread. The last step is to use an old fashioned 3 point deburrer to remove the burr, the long handled style. It's quick, neat, and hardly any need for filling.

Not sure the bend in those armoured conforms to manufacturers bend radii… look way too tight. You can see the right hand one discolouring where it’s been bent
@marksmith-ew7ir Жыл бұрын
When doing these job's each one you do will get better as you learn from the last installation, but not every job will go as smooth as you like. If the customer has ordered the part's and not check the list when they come in, it's not your fault but you can work around the problems and just takes more time to complete.

Why did you need to put a lower rated mcb in? The cable stayed the same
@chrisnoskillsexperienceday9421 Жыл бұрын
protect the cable not the appliance
@rolyicecold Жыл бұрын
why not protect both? yeah cable would be fine for 50A but what if the appliance was rated for 32A MCB, its a single appliance on a single circuit breaker. But a downside I could see in the future, just say another electrician comes onto the job to install a larger unit. They will have to install a larger mcb and redo all the cable calculations. That costs time and money. But both ways I see are correct.

Looks Good Delroy, Would be nice to have a 63 amp socket for the oven instead of hard wiring it so they are able to disconnect and move the oven etc...
@casperme6552 Жыл бұрын
This is horrendous. The cables into the dboard are shocking, absolutely no attempt was made to make them tidy. The cables coming down into the trunking arent much better, no attempt was made to get them level, the bends are all different, the cleats are all over the place. That tray and cables will be nothing but a dustrap, and a nightmare to clean. The bushs are the wrong way round in the switchs, whatever is coming out of the bottom of the trunking should have been in trunking or conduit, again this will be a nightmare to clean. The cables around the store room are shockingly bad, if you'd have done the tray properly, you'd have had a much easier time of making them look tidy. The fact that someone has put this on KZbin, and people are saying how good it is just shows the state if the industry. If someone did this on one of my jobs, I'd rip it out at my expense and do it properly.

Hey Delroy i know you said "an electrician could not of done this" but trust me some are not as good as they think, they take shortcuts or do not do the job correctly. I had an electrician round for three days and i was not 100% happy with the work but, it works. He changed an fuse the fuse board and i asked for it in writing why and he said "yes i will send it" never did, no invoice either. So now i have no idea why an fuse was downgraded other than a mistake he might of made (said you may not like me). will admit his price was "good" but i will not use him again. Would lovce to replace the old fuse (he left it) but do not know how or the reason why he changed it (i think the electrics was tripping due to a socket which was fixed but i do not remember)

Connectione of the Flex wouldnt be up to code in Germany. Every stranded wire needs to have a Ferulle crimped on it. If it isnt a cage clamp
@WooShell Жыл бұрын
I don't get why you UK sparks use armored cable everywhere, even when there's no physical strain on the cable.. is this prescribed by building code so the cable vendors make a few extra bucks?
@havoctrousers Жыл бұрын
Nope, not building or wiring regs - you can use any wiring method you like when surface mounting. You should take into account the environment though, this is a commercial kitchen where the installation may have to deal with impacts, heat, steam and liquids. Armoured is very cost effective because it doesn't need containment or additional mechanical protection. Weirdly, armoured is also cheaper in my local wholesaler than buying NYY-J - which is basically armoured without the armouring.
