I continue to be amazed at how unsupportive fellow women are with regards to abuse of all sorts. So fracturing of community to be that way, so unhelpful to women. Killing their walking wounded while supporting their wounders.

The denial is strong with the brainwashed, programmed, and often abused or harassed themselves. Blaming the victim makes people feel strong and in control and is the instant gratification of ganging up on someone who raises awareness of any unpleasantness and the very idea that the world really isn't safe for anyone but especially women - all women. Many women don't want to admit that to themselves. They're usually the maga type too - they'll vote against their own interests because tmin siding with a bully they feel stronger themselves, and the like to punch down and like to believe that siding with the bullies will mean THEY'LL be protected and benefit. Life is a zero sum game to them - people have to and will suffer in this world but if they themselves behave a certain way (submissive and compliant to and join in with the patriarchy), they figure the people who have to suffer the most won't include them. It's them hedging their bets.

Interesting how many men (as usual) don’t believe her. Honestly, if men were more supportive, and called out other men on their shitty behavior instead of laughing about it or ignoring it, we might slowly reform many men’s attitudes. Hawk is highlighting these allegations and not saying the men are guilty but that time will tell. Also, why is there always the charge that “ she slept with him” for any allegation or success?

I don’t like her because of the video that made the rounds where she was really mean to the interviewer and that’s likely why other women are blasting her. But I personally am able to dislike someone, but still stand up for them if I see that they are being mistreated for something. I don’t like her at all, but it’s pretty obvious thatshe’s likely not the one at fault here.

Halito 👋🏽 it's hard to like this video on content but I appreciate the delivery... Unfortunately historically there have always been women that have simply accepted this behavior as reality and decided to find their perceived safe place in it by facilitating the abuse of others... someone has to feed the machine, sad indeed ,😢🧡

The tendency in a controversy, for some, is to curry favor with perceived power (some clear examples in politics right now). The fact is that women are very seldom the ones with perceived (or real) power. So those women who are seeking safety in a situation are going to opt for men to side with. Also, some women are very aware that other women are not universally truthful. In this case, it appears that there is some evidence to support the woman's side of the story, and evidence is always helpful when you're trying to actually figure out who's lying. And in cases like this, one of the two sides is prevaricating. Haven't seen any evidence on the guy's side yet. It could exist. But so far, the boys have some explaining to do.

It's funny, I barely know who she is, I was only vaguely aware of the book/movie (my wife was reading the book around that time), and even I knew the online hate was bullshit. It reminded me too much of all the anti Taylor Swift stuff, felt manufactured. The part I got wrong was that I just assumed that it was entirely related to her notoriety at the time, sort of like fanshionable contrarianism combined with purity culture.

Lots of women don't support other women. "Mean girls" is an unfortunate reality that doesn't go away with age. You either are one or not. Lots of women are toxic and will do or say anything to demean someone else. It's a sport for them. I steer clear of these people and don't join their feeding frenzy. We all know some. I believe her 100 percent. The ones that don't believe her, are lying to themselves.

This is not troll post - hear me out - I disagree with "believe all women" as in just automatically believe them. Women are just people and so are definitely capable of lying and having their own ulterior motives and agendas etc. And false accusations are a really pain in the b*tt for the accused and seriously unethical as well glad harmful for the legitimate cases. So I definitely think there should be nuance here. I prefer "all accusations should be listened to and taken seriously and thoroughly and accurately investigated in good faith". I'm even not sure about when and how to make them private in case of false accusations. The case with singer Cliff Richard in England is a good example of a really nasty false accusation. Same with Pakistani singer Ali Zafar. Fortunately they were both able to pursue it and win but that took two years of Cliff's life and mental health and was cruel. He was no p*do, not gay (not that that's wrong), but he has been a single man all his life so always treated with suspicion "what's wrong with him?" which he's talked about a lot. He was no Kevin Spacey in a million years but he had to prove that. Anyway it should be "all accusations should be listened to and taken seriously and fairly and thoroughly investigated". Also, it's 2024. I so wish humanity were beyond all this stuff by now. Why does it take so long to progress on things as basic as common decency?
@judytruitt6703Сағат бұрын
@ thank you and yes I should have written a better explanation! I do tend to listen and observe the female. You are absolutely correct malicious are definitely cruel and quite harmful! Yes the number of false accusations is smaller then the true factual accusations. False accusations damage the credibility of the woman making factual claims. My reason for believing the woman first is because of the horror she will face once she has come forward, even when her accusations are obviously true. I have seen too many men and women attack the victim blaming them for the incident. That is why I listen to the victim first. Next time I will try and do better in my opinion.

@stellaaraque-e4f14 сағат бұрын
The only lie I caught Blake Lively on for this production so far is when she was saying that both movies hers and her husbands just came out in theaters by coincidence on the same day, Then Blake did a lot of Press just to say that over and over again but it turns out she delayed the movie release date of "It Ends With US" on purpose and she had to push hard to get production to delay release of the film so she could have that moment. So she worked really hard to make sure both film were released on the same day but came out to tell the public the exact opposite that it was just by chance, by fate.
@tinaperez739313 сағат бұрын
Yeah release dates are NEVER an accident. That's too bad. Who cares? Why not say that yeah you wanted it released at the same time. It makes good marketing sense. That's unfortunate. Always tell the truth when you can. Hollywood celebrities should know better than to lie when it's unnecessary. It's hard to create and maintain public credibility and respect as it is because you're famous, rich, and privileged and people know not all the rules apply to you already. So celebrities should play be the rules as much as possible ESPECIALLY when their actions are easily found out or at least under a microscope as it is.

@tinaperez739313 сағат бұрын
I don't think this is the case here, but it shouldn't be "believe all women" because women can and do lie, have ulterior motives and agendas, etc. It should be "listen to and take all accusations seriously and then investigate thoroughly, fairly, and accurately". I also think there should be some way to be confidential until proven guilty and yet be able to put out a general call "anyone harassed or sa by a person of xyz general description - famous male celebrity - or something - please report here". Like the bill cosby case - something like 60 women came forward but I think because the accusations of one or some women came out and were public. How to balance privacy protection of one's reputation with getting as many credible accusations needs to be in place I should think.

Colleen Hoover is a controversial figure, so is her book, and as expected, so is this movie. Blake Lively was America's sweetheart, but she also has some snafus of her own, including being insensitive about dv, and why is she cutting her own film and recruiting her high-powered friend, and husband, when she's not the boss? Justin Baldoni has been acting for many years, happily married, with a spotless reputation till now. Jamey Heath looks sketchy, and the PR texts look vile. This is soup. As with anything, I doubt any of them have been saints, and I hope the truth comes out and they all get their comeuppance. We should reserve our judgement until we know the extent of everyone's involvement. As for the NYT, they haven't been accurate either, and tried to link an independent journalist to Baldoni's team, which isn't the case. Everyone needs to chill, and I hope this is conducted fairly.

Blake wants to obtain the rights to the 2nd book from Justin. That is the entire goal of the lawsuit. She and Ryan are trying to bully him and will settle the complaint if he gives up the rights so that they can make the second movie.
@TallyRocky15 сағат бұрын
Oh bullshit.
@tinaperez739313 сағат бұрын
I don't know if that's true but if it is , two things could be true at the same time. He could be guilty of harassment AND she might want the rights because she was planning on making a second movie based on it but now want to do so without his further involvement. I would think all the mess surrounding the first movie would make people not interested in a second one though. Dunno.

Blake is very manipulative. Baldoni bought both books. He still has the second one. Ryan wanted the second book for her which she could not get from Baldoni. The crew were on Baldoni side while Blake manipulated the cast. Baldoni is a gentleman, proven over and over. She’s lying. Ryan and Blake have been on a heavy campaign on FB, spending a fortune to clean up their image. These two did it to themselves. I think it’s more promoting for the Oscars.
