I'm a little late. What a ride! I was a Dart collector/driver years ago. I had a 70 swinger & sedan, 73 swinger, and my 71 swinger (salavage yard special) daily driver I paid $300 for lasted me 10 new england winters seasons before I sold it back to the same yard I bought it from.

This guy deserves way more subscribers than he has, Mr. McCool, you are an amazing youtuber, I will try to share your channel to everyone I know. PROS: Amazing quality on your videos, you're ACTUALLY REAL, your intro is amazing, plus lots more! CONS: None!! There are many more good things to list, but I'm too tired to list them, lol, it's 10:30 PM here in Alabama and I've had a pretty long day, keep up the good work!

Nice job. The kick down? Pull the "slider" off, push the throttle all the way back (open), hold that then push the kick down "slider" back to full kick down position then screw the threaded "slider" part till it just clears the stud on the throttle. That is a good starting point. This will allow full throttle while forcing the kick down to maximum rpm before shifting. Might have to turn a thread or two to shift a couple hundred rpm sooner.

You do a great job shooting and editing your videos. I know this video is a few months old, but i just found your channel today, and i'm so glad i did.. And i was just going to comment on the cam issue.. I know many people who have built cars for years, and it seems like at least the last 5 to 6 years, i'v seen way to many of them having issues with comp cams doing this same thing.. And now a few of the old schooler's, will not use regular lifters, rockers, or cams anymore because of it.. It costs them a bit more, but they just say it;s worth it to keep from having to tare it back down 2 or 3 times.. lol.. And what i call old schoolers, is the ones who like keeping the classic engines classic.. They will change the carb', put in a hotter cam, work the heads, and slap some headers on them, but they like keeping the basics, if that makes any sense.. Okay, i'm just rambling.. I hope you have a great week, and keep up the great work.. Peace!!

Today's cams steel is not as good as in the 60's-70's plus I also believe the hardening process is not done as well today. Since that being the case and loosing 2 solid lifter cams in my 70 Z28, I've gone to a roller cam. I've had solid lifter cams since 1974 when I owned my 68 Z/28 that had the screaming 302.

You’re killing the cam lobes with all that cranking...... the engine should be timed correctly and start immediately. Fill the floats on the carb and squirt plenty of gas into the engine and use a test light to check your timing before you fire it. I do like your videos, I look forward to every new one

pretty sure Comp Cams are Chinese now. Might account for most of your problems and why Summit was so gracious to just give you a new one. They probably buy them CHEAP. I have a '70 'cuda with a 340 and use MOPAR Performance parts only now. On a side note I remember back in the late 70's early 80's Chevy had a huge problem with cam lobes wearing down very quickly on the back 2 cylinders on the small blocks. My father in law worked at a big Chevy dealer as a tech guy and told me they were just bad cams but always being the same lobes leaves me to believe it was an oiling problem. Looks badass with the cop car wheels...the ONLY wheels that look good black. U should try to find a sport hood to put on that with the dual scoops.
