Looks like MSL and the management though Slaf was a ready made NHL star at 18. They use him with total disregard for who he is or how young he is and, now they've stalled his development. They want this European youngster to be something he isn't and they want it quick. Also Dach clearly hasn't come back from injury. Why would you pair Slaf with him? I don't even want to predict Laine's future in the team, but the way things are going MSL will extinguish his fire soon too. Everyone is always looking into the future, ignoring the present. But what do I know about anything. It's just my opinion. It is with regret that I have to wave NHL goodbye. I was only putting up with the endless commercials to see the Habs, but enough is enough. Good luck with the chaotic rebuild. And thanks for your reporting. You've become one of only two decent YT channels that cover the Habs.

Slaf is not a true 1st round pick. Hes a bust of a first round pick. Just saying. I cant wait 5 years till he finds confidence. We gave Kotekniemi 3 years max. We made a huge mistake by giving him that contract. Rip mtl

​@@xlwolfffSlafkovsky has played less than 2 seasons of north American hockey and he was killing it while playing with Caufield and Suzuki (still 19 at the time) and that's why he got that contract. But now they're doing to him the same as on his very first season - playing him with mediocre or outright poor players. Plus the whole team is struggling. This is not Slafs fault, this is all MSL.

For Laine to score 30 goals this season would be immense however for that to happen Dach's play has to improve drastically or Habs will have to find him another centre.

Dach is an anchor for the second line dragging everyone down. I know Hughes does not want to admit he is done as a NHL player but maybe put him on the 4th line. Our lack of centre depth is pretty glaring in that Dvorak seems to be incapable of scoring, I really was disappointed Suzuki didn't score on his breakaway, I always think he is money in the bank. Don't practice breakaways with Primeau. At 71 I could score on him. Hutson will make the USA team at the next Olympics because he benefits from big ice.

Absolutely, I would not give up on Dach, he will find his game. A tough loss, with their goalie on fire in the 3rd. There is a lot of good to take away from tonight.

Heineman is not getting the ice time he deserves, great shot, great skater, hits really well, good defensively...he may be the best overall winger...but not getting the minutes. Hutson gets caught a lot on the outside, and will be a power play specialist when it gets to playoff hockey, due to size. He is extremely entertaining re-offense and has true elite touch-on-the-puck. I hope he competes for the Calder, but Michkov seems on that. I believe that Markov was at the game...they should hire him asap.

It isn’t the players it’s MSL. Juraj has changed his style. WHY? After 5 years who made JS change his style? Why is it all the big guys are non effective? MSL system has backfired. WAKE THE FREAK UP. Very poor take. +/- doesn't mean much, especially when you take into consideration the number of times Hutson has been on the ice when an empty net goal has been scored. Suggest you look at his advance stats to give a more informed opinion.

Newhook doesn’t have an assist because he’s not creative. It’s ridiculous that Slav was taken off that line and it shows in his development. He’s got great vision and a much more creative player than Newhook. Hopefully playing with Laine saves his season!

That second period goal killed the Habs, yet thry then dominated the second period. Caps looked looked terrible in this game. 5 breakaways, no finish as always. Thry lack talent next year is the beginning of the rebuild eith Demidov and 3 players gone, hopefully thry can sign another good forward. Media praises Monty with amazing stats when they win, but when they lose thry lose big.

Why not do a show how cole gets 17 to 18 mins a game but Leon d. Get 23 to 24 mins a game and wonder why we haven't had a 50 goal man in 37 years and 38 years without a 100 point man just pathetic we have become every coach running 4 lines till we are down to 7 mins maybe in 3rd period then shorten the bench If I could just ask one question to management I would ask about ice time why do other stars in the league get more ice time than cole.. and remember they are all in good shape...

Comparing a guy that plays with the best player in the world to a guy that can score goals even on a shit team is crazy work brother. Give Mcdavid to Caufield and he scores 50 easily. Leon plays big minutes because theres only 2 guys that can score on the oilers meanwhile Caufield plays those minutes because St-Louis plays all of his lines compared to the oilers where they put Leon and Mcdavid together to create more offence.

Slafkovsky doesnt seem like a first overall at all he is not impressive since the beginning of the season and dach is surely a lose trade we got him to play as a center on the top 6 and hes almost not even playing as a center and when he does he is bad at faceoff and hes not producing we got this guy for the 13th draft pick btw

Slaf doesnt play well because he doesnt seem to play at all. He gives puck away to go stand in front of the net. He should be battling it out around the corners. This is coach problem, not using players properly
