I had an ovarian cyst burst when I was like 13. I was on the couch in pain for three days, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. I ended up going to the ER cause we thought it was my appendix. At that point it had burst and there was nothing more they could do for me, I just had to let it pass. To this day, that is the worst pain I have ever been in. Every female nurse/doctor that hears I had one burst always says that an ovarian cyst burst is more painful than childbirth (cannot confirm ;) ). And I've been told that once you have one, you are more prone to cyst ruptures. That pain is very real!

Same thing happened to me, only I was 19 at the time. I went to the hospital and was admitted and was on IV antibiotics because all the toxins from the cyst were in my abdomen where they obviously don’t belong! It can be dangerous and the nurses told me it’s worse than childbirth!

I also agree. I had two episodes of rupturing with the first one happening on vacation. Horrendous pain and you need a strong pain med for it. I always felt like a ticking time bomb and finally ended up having a vaginal hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries at age 36.

A sounds like she had more of a mild episode. You cannot sleep with just having Tylenol. You just can’t sleep because it is too painful. Also, after it ruptures, you have abdominal bloating for about a week. She is too perky too soon. You can’t even think of doing anything for 2 days due to the pain. Once you have one rupture, it is likely you will experience another one. Once you have 2 ruptures you will feel like a ticking time bomb and become fearful of traveling. It altered my life and I was relieved once I ended up with a complete hysterectomy later in life.

I got the iud in Jan 2021, when I was 18, and started feeling ovarian cyst symptoms in may 2021. It hurt when I’d go to the bathroom, when I did certain ab exercises and it made my lower abdomen swell for the longest time. I decided to get an ultrasound because I knew I had a cyst and low and behold I did. I went to Mexico In august 2021 and it bursted while I was sleeping. It hurt so bad that it woke me up at 4 am and I just lied on my side and tried to sleep it off. It hurt sooo bad! After Mexico, I went to the Gyn and she said that it was gone so I told her what I went thru in Mexico and she said it must’ve burst when I was on my trip. Yep ovarian cysts are not fun! Yours kind of sounds like it was because sometimes you don’t even know there’s a cyst there. It is very common for some people

13:26 I’ve got PCOS and get cysts frequently. They are very painful once they rupture but within a few hours the pain subsides. I had a golf ball sized one removed when I was 15. I had been having major pain off and on for months. Eventually landed in the hospital and they decided to do en exploratory surgery (they as in a genera surgeon and an OBGYN). They removed the cyst as well as my appendix. Funny thing was the General surgeon said the pain was from the cyst and the GYN said my pain was from the appendix. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was diagnosed with PCOS shortly after. It sounds like you had a cyst rupture. I would bring it up to your GYN next time you see them. Just so they’re aware of what has been happening.

I had a c-section 3 months ago & when they cut me open they told me I had a ovarian cyst (7cm) 😳 .. they were going to remove it but I had already bled out more than they had liked so they didnt want to put me more at risk so they left it. Ive had an ultrasound last wk & see a gynaecologist next week to organise getting it surgically removed. I do get pain every now & then but they want me to have it removed before it does rupture as I heard once theyre big like that, they can be extremely painful. Definitely book an appt with your doctor to see if they can do an ultrasound to see if you have anymore / what size they are if you do

My mom has cysts that burst every now and then, and it can be very painful. not all cysts burst, but if that's the case here, you may very well have more without even knowing it (not all are noticeable). You can actually check it with a gynaecologist, they don't always «feel» it. But you can also find out via ultrasound. That’s What my mom did!

i had an ovarian cyst burst a couple of months ago when i was away at school. i woke up feeling super dizzy, but i didn't think anything of it because i tend to get dizzy often. i did everything i usually do when i get dizzy, but it only got worse. i started feeling nauseous, and felt a stabbing pain in my side near my appendix. i remember i was on the phone with my mom crying and sweating before my roommate called my schools campus safety to bring me to the wellness center, where i was told to return at 2:30. i slept until right before the appointment, and when i woke up the pain in my side turned into a dull achey pain. the dr at the wellness center told me i had an ovarian cyst burst, and it took a couple of days for me to fully feel better. i've never had any pain come close to that one and i'm terrified of getting another one.

Like I'm seeing in some other comments as well... I had a family member have a very similar experience like you did. She was told at the hospital that most likely she had an ovarian cyst burst and her body went into shock. Most of the time this happens without us knowing but sometimes what you described happens instead. She was given Tylenol and sent home torest as well. Hope you feel better soon and get some answers!

I've a few rupture as well..horrible pain!!! I also had one the size of a grapefruit that I had to have surgery to have it removed!! They found it while I was having a C-section and instead of taking it out then, they made me come back 6 weeks later to have surgery again to have it removed. I was so mad!!!

It does sound a lot like a cyst rupturing! It is very painful and intense. The pain happens when it is bursting. So yes, u have extreme pain and once it has finished bursting there’s no pain and ur fine. This is something u definitely need to keep an eye on and talk to ur gyn dr about. I suffered with this from my teens until I had my hysterectomy (for other issues). Sleep and sometimes ice pack felt good, sometimes heating pad. Idk why it was different. U just have to take the time for ur self to rest when this happens.

I had a raptured ovarian cyst when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I ended up in the ER, they suspected appendix first but MRI confirmed that it was the cyst that burst. Your stomach may hurt for the few days but it should be better every day. Good luck.

I have a condition called polycystic ovarian syndrome. It causes many health issues. One of them is the production of cysts on your ovaries. They sometimes burst and cause terrible pain like that. When I was 17 years old, I had those symptoms and they rushed me to the ER thinking I had appendicitis. It was not. They said I had a cyst on my right ovary. They removed the appendix and the cyst. When I was 25 years old I had reproductive issues and underwent infertility treatment to have my first baby. It wasn't until I was 35 and went to a reproductive endocrinologist to try to have a second baby that he did an ultrasound and diagnosed my PCOS. For 35 years none of my doctors caught on or knew anything about this disorder. It presents differently for everyone. Some have reproductive issues and some don't. Look into that.

Have you had your gallbladder checked? It’s common to go bad after pregnancy I had mine out 6 weeks after giving birth. It would hit me so quick and sudden and I’d lay on the bathroom floor in pain!

I had an ovarian cyst about a year ago and it caused me to have major pain in my lower stomach. I laid on the bathroom floor sweating for a hour or so until my boyfriend came to try to get me up. However when I eventually had the major pain pass, I still had the tenderness for about a week. When I went to the doctor they said it was normal to have pain after a cyst ruptured. I hope your pain doesn’t come back again it truly is an awful feeling !

As a mom of four I’ve had several ovarian cysts and bad kidney stones 🤷‍♀️ they hurt really bad when they rupture!! It’s like a stabbing- take your breath away pain ( or at least it was for me) I’m glad you’re feeling better now.

I get ovarian cysts often. Every few months (after an accumulation of eggs not shedding my uterus properly and clumping together) they rupture. The first few times, I would go to the ER, and get scans done thinking it's my appendix. The only thing that has helped with not getting these cysts so often is birth control because it stops yours body from ovulating monthly, therefore you won't have an egg try to shed and get stuck. But it's exactly how you described it. A lot of pain, heating pad, Tylenol (the ER near me gives me morphine for the pain), and sleep. An ultrasound of your uterus can show fluid from the cysts that have ruptured, which will eventually shed your uterus as well. An ultrasound can also show if there are more cysts on your ovaries because once you get one, you are prone to getting more.

Ovarian cysts rupturing hurt worse than having either of my kids. You should see your ob and get checked to make sure that's "all" it is. Also it makes me laugh every time a man talks about needing to go somewhere for oil. I think its partly my Dad wanted a boy (3 girls first), partly he's a mechanical engineer, partly he wanted us to not be totally dependent... He made me and my sisters learn how to do oil, oil filters, and tires before we were 10. I'm small, its hard lifting tires but I can do it. I still do oil for my car and my sister's car in spring and fall... Easy and easier than going anywhere with kids.

Gallbladder pain is usually in the cheat below the breaststroke. Center chest that radiates back to your back. If your pain is on the lower right side, it could be your appendix or ovary.

I have chronic cyst and fibroids. Usually when you have a cyst you just don't know. But if they rupture you may feel sick. In my situation when i have them I bleed and it is very painful. Everyone is different but an ultrasound is best so they can see what the size is and if you had a rupture and what not

Kidney stones are extremely painful and the pain stops when they stop moving.But I bleed with mine. I started with them at 32 and had 18 with 5 Lithotripsy’s to break up the ones that wouldn’t pass. My daughter-in-law had a burst and drove herself to the hospital and they had to remove her ovary.

Ok do this lay on your back push in your stomach and let go .if it's your appendix it will really hurt. And popcorn will trigger it. My appendix rupture I was 16 its really dangerous. I don't want to scare you and you could have a ovary pregnancy my sister did.please stop guessing and go to your doctor lol love you all .I'm 67 .

I have ovarian cyst at least once a year and yes they hurt but the last day or two before it erupts I can’t walk I’m hunched over when I walk and when I walk is extremely slow moving hurts and same laying in bed hurts when I move so I have to be very slow or just not move at all. But yes it is excruciating pain that makes me cry of how intense it is.
