What is best about Optimus is its versatility. I need a domestic robot as my wife and I age to make up for the tasks I can no longer do or can’t do safely like climb ladders, move furniture, or plant a tree. When Optimus can do light housework and yard work too, it will be a bargain at twice Musk’s estimated price. I can image dozens if not 100s of useful jobs for Optimus around my home and perhaps even help me start a business as well.
@TeslaCarWorld6 ай бұрын
We sympathize with this, in the end what all customers are looking for is its function, what tasks it can do when it is on sale and whether it is smart enough to accept the task. In the house, you know this is just the beginning for us to evaluate its capabilities. Of course, it will be more complete and advanced until it achieves Tesla's goals and expectations.

What is needed , is synthetic muscle on a human frame. You KNOW that is the real end product of android evolution , and Optimus is just a stepping stone. Pack the subcomponents on a skeleton , already a known form , and develop the synthetic muscle to move it. Such , is the real un-verbalized fact. Optimus as a project is akin to - trying to evolve a plane , into a bird. A robot has use , but it isn't going to seamlessly blend into the human scenario , you might as well put wheels on Optimus , if the goal is simply moving around.

I already have perfectly good robot vacuum cleaner, and I cant see any other use for a robot for indoor domestic chores. However, we just finished our DIY house renovation, and it would have been great if I could have popped down to my local hire store and pick up a robot to sand and paint my ceilings. Having finished that, they could move on to weeding my garden which got out of control during the reno.

When the robot comes out it will be at least $100,000 USD. No way will it be for 20 grand.. It's Tesla.

Maybe the price will be increased but $100k is impossible!

Someone will come around and do it for cheaper. Lucky for us Tesla has plenty of competition.

Still using the faked shirt folding video I see, but now the hand of the person controlling it remotely has been edited out of the right hand side of the video. Maybe you should also edit out the control cable coming out of its back and going down and right to the operator? Cool.

That Tesla robot looks fragile and moves slowly. It can barely walk. And it's noticeable that it walks in areas with terrain previously prepared to be perfect and without obstacles. Boston Dynamics' Atlas is far superior, more agile and faster. It's light-years ahead in terms of utility.

Sorry, Optimus is well behind - see other robot companies. Invest in this, lose money.
