Look back 10 years and think how far the EV world has come. Best selling vehicle globally being an EV seemed like the impossible dream back then. Love seeing more and more EVs hitting the market. Tesla will be the one noted for getting EVs from hobby or niche vehicle to product used by the masses. It will take many companies to get the world changed over and it will be interesting to see who helps and who fights it.

Ummmm, imagine for a moment IF the Electric car was Adopted in 1900's rather than in 2009.
@t1n44443 ай бұрын
@@kevtheobald Be serious! EVs sales across planet are down. To rpt, the battery EV has had its day. What you might be confused about is that hybrid EVs remain popular. Which rather defeats the efforts of the "stop burning stuff" cohorts which is a great shame without a doubt. There again motor manufacturers build what they believe and hope will sell so who can blame their policy and decision makers? Why not research the recent press releases from Stellantis, bound to cheer up yourself and the rest of the battery huggers no end. In esse Stellantis will bin any marque they feel is not turning a profit. However, as might be expected, there's disquiet among some governments as to which national "iconic" marques might be binned. This is where the seemingly sensible financial aspects are somewhat clouded by political interests. Whether this stance by Stellantis is to crowbar out monetary "rescue packages" remains to be seen. Interestingly nations such as France are happy to support foreign car makers such as Toyota who are providing hydrogen powered vehicles for the Paris Olympics. Obviously this has a political significance as in demonstrating France's desire to host as low a carbon footprint (groan) Olympics as possible. And, before posters chime in with the green hydrogen thing, the Olympics authorities are keen to point out that all the hydrogen fuel used during the Olympics will be certifiably green. What happens after the Olympics is anyone's guess.

Whatever you think about Tesla the fact is that they have gone from a tech company that makes cars to a car company that has revolutionised how we make cars. Roland's comparison with Henry Ford bringing us the production line is very apt. We already have 3d printed vehicles making their debut and now we have die cast cars. Once upon a time that used to mean matchbox cars with wobbly wheels and poor paint jobs. Now you can stamp out quality cars for a fraction of the cost. Despite the naysayers, progress just keeps on coming.
