Bring it by. I know a thing or two about fixing these beasts. Seat is normal. Definitely the SAI tube leaking exhaust. Mine is on original head gaskets at 165k. Replace the thermostat, fan clutch, and keep an eye on those temps and they will last. The ground wire in the sill beside the seat needs to be rewired/soldered to fix the ghost locking.

Many years ago I got locked out on a test drive at LR dealer. Every P38 I looked at had issues (3 to 5 years old). Ended up with a 2000 D2. Great truck. Served me well for many years and good off road with lift, CDL activated and larger tires.

My guess on the heat is the blend motors, not a fun job but not as terrible as an LC200 alternator

Brilliant beast. We still have one of these, great cars. I am sure you already know but the not set beep on windows and roof is just because the battery was disconnected. All the way down or open count 2 all the way closed count 2 beeping should stop as car now 'knows' where fully open and fully closed is for the anti trap. Have to do this every time bad is removed. No heat can mean blend motors are knackered. Here in the UK the three oem from Valeo in France around £180.00. It is the labour to fit them that is a ball ache. Slightly sounded like the viscous fan fired up straight away, zaps a few horses and might be a sign the coupling is on the way out. I hope you save her!

I have 2 P38s with 320,000km and 350,000km in Australia, neither have ever done a head gasket

We have a p38 as well on 300k kms 200k miles its had a head gaskets once and that wasn't the cars fault the radiator had sprung a leak and my dad drove it without coolant. The main reason why the blow headgaskets in the US is because they were fitted with 105C° thermostats for emissions run an 82C° as the car was originally designed for and they'll be fine
