I love your interpretation here in this video I didn’t watch the series when it first aired. I purchased the dvd set with commentary last year and I watched them everyday. Not only do I love the characters and storylines but I particularly love the relationship between Micheala and Sully and the romantic history between Jane and Joe. I find myself studying the directors as they direct episode. My favorite is Gwen Arner. Two of her directed episodes are Reunion and For Better or Worse. I have come to the conclusion that someone told her about the relationship between Jane and Joe. I say that because she can get the most out of them when she works on a episode. There is always definitive romance that doesn’t allow you to wonder about their relationship. If you see she is directing the episode,you can look forward to love in action every time. It’s as if she says to them,just go with your feelings you two.😁😉

Micheala using subtlety tries to suggest that Sully let the spirit of his wife rest and he really becomes ticked off because he doesn’t want Micheala to know how he feels about her.

Gwen Arner slowly exhibited the love that was growing between the two.

I agree with you. I never watched this series when it was shown in the 90's, but during Lockdown, I looked at so many shows in the 90's and this was one of them. Having just watched the first series (for the 1st time), Joe and Jane were perfect for each other, they were on the same page intellectually, emotionally and physically. Jane would have met the perfect man who would compliment her. Joe would have loved this woman equally and with respect. He is very relaxed around her. The scenes between them in Dr Quinn seems real and very special.

I watched this program and must say Sully and Brian were so bad I couldn't stand watching. Bad acting and wasn't sure what Sully was and why some smart alex kid got away with so much. Did better when Daniel took over for a while. Sorry to see it gone from StartTv but will remember the good ones.
