It ain't so odd especially now that indrusty people were campaigning for Polanski to come back. When it happened it was at the time when yes sure it was not ok by any means what he did, but way more common for teens to be with older guys (I remember and always found it weird behaviour when just still in my time.. like say 24 year olds would come to what would be ours equavalent of high school's parking lot with cars and waiting if some girls come to talk to them.
