If you want to study further details, I would suggest you to read few books of Scott Hahn and Brand Pitre- famous popular catholic theologians from USA. (Lamb's Supper by Hahn and Jewish roots of the Eucharist by Pitre etc). I got insights for this video from them. This interpretation was there in the Church from second century onward. But we never heard about it. Now, to the questions you asked: There is always a MISINTERPRETATION about the Book of Hebrews that, than any other New Testament Books, it contradicted the Catholic doctrine of the Eucharist as a sacrifice. The main theme of the Hebrews is the priesthood of Jesus, particularly as it reaches to his "ONCE FOR ALL" sacrifice (Heb 7:27; 9;12, 26; 10:10). Read Heb. 8:1-2: Unlike the Jewish priests in the Old Covenant, Jesus does not make daily offerings of distinct sacrificial victims (Heb 7:27). On the other hand, as our High Priest, Jesus must have something to offer as a sacrifice on our behalf; "For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices , hence it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer" (Heb 8:3). Does this mean that Jesus' "once for all" sacrifice is exclusively past? On the contrary, it clearly implies that Jesus' sacrifice, precisely because of its "once for all" character, has become the one perfect offering, that he continually presents in heaven. In other words, its never ending. That's why the Church calls it a 'perpetual' sacrifice. As one of our teachers put it: "How can you repeat that which never ends?" Jesus is no longer bleeding, suffering or dying (Heb (9:25-26). Rather, he is enthroned in heaven with his resurrected body and with our glorified humanity, which he as our oldest brother, High Priest, King offers to the Father (Heb 7:1-3). It is precisely in this manner that the Father beholds this perfect and perpetual offering in the living body of his Son. If Jesus' offering has ceased, there would be no basis for his ongoing priesthood; but Jesus' priesthood is said to be permanent and to 'continue forever' (Heb 7:24). Moreover, there would be no reason for an earthly altar if Jesus' offering was ended. But the author of the Hebrews teaches that we do: "We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat" (Heb 13:10). In sum, the 'once for all' character of Jesus' sacrifice points to the perfection and perpetuity of his self-offering. It can be represented upon our altars in the Eucharist, by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that "through Him, (we) continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God" (Heb 13:15).
