Yeah the fact they took a long while to respond and when they did it got significantly less comments than the first dress. Personally I didn’t like it either, I just couldn’t see it for a beach wedding and the top wasn’t doing it for me. Looked like a prom dress dyed white.

I was entourage in may. I don't like the dress *bride knows this* but the way her eyes sparkled when she came out of the dressing room made that her dress. And i could see how it would fit after alterations. You don't have to like it but you have to know when the bride does. That is the job, that's why you are there.

As always DE went over the bride's clearly stated budget but it was worth gritting my teeth through the pain if David Emmanuel's condescending tone to see a beautiful woman find a dress she loved, felt beautiful in, and was comfortable in. Her mum and friend keeping their obvious dislike of the dess to themselves and supporting the bride because SHE was happy was awesome.

I love how her mom and friend did not like the dress at all, but realized that she had reached a breakthrough by finding something that she liked and that she loved the way she looked, even if they didn’t like the dress. She found her confidence and a dress that she loved plus the dress didn’t make her look crazy so the entourage didn’t have to feel guilty about not telling her they’re opinions.

@@chevingladden5146 Hearing from my boyfriend, some do, some don't. He gets the same pressure from his parents to dress a certain way as I do from my mom. It's really hard fighting against the flow. You either haver a nearly perfect body or are expected to hide under sacks and tents. If you have a waiste, what is wrong with showing it of? Why fault a woman for wearing clothes that don't make chest and belly look like one entity? I may be fat, but if I ever get a Wedding dress, it's gonna be Elsa-Style but with an A-Line skirt and I won't have anyone stop me!

I am VERY lucky to have incredibly wonderful and supportive parents and stepparents who have a "wear what makes you feel like you, be comfortable and happy" rather than ither parents I'm familiar with who do try to influence how their children express themselves through their clothing. And my friends and I are all Gen X so we're in our 41-56 in 2021 and certainly past needing parental approval for the way we dress. I'm a "lipstick lesbian" and if my wife and I had chosen to have a wedding I would have worn what I thought I looked good in and knew my wife would think I looked beautiful wearing. And when it is your wedding you GO WEAR that Elsa or whatever princess dress makes you happy because it is YOUR day!!

Regardless of what we think of David, I must give it to him for choosing a fishtail to start with even though it is not what she asked for, She looked amazing and knew she could do better, had she tried the flowy dress first she will just focus on how huge she felt for the rest of the appointment and be totally discouraged. Well done David and new consultant, you were considerate and treated the bride as a normal person, not someone with confidence issues that need to be addressed and highlighted. When I was shopping for my dress I didn’t enjoy it at all. I am so self conscious and there were dresses that I tried on that I loved but I hated how they looked on me and it was so draining. I feel like I tried on so many dresses and I felt like giving up but I booked an appointment at another place and the morning of I didn’t even want to get out of bed because I didn’t want to try on any more dresses because I just hated my body so much. But when I got there my maid of honour and I were looking through the dresses and we found one that I liked but I was so scared to try them on because of how I looked. The second I tried on that dress I knew it was the one because when I looked in the mirror I didn’t hate myself. I felt beautiful and it was the weirdest feeling ever because I don’t think I have ever not found something wrong with the way I looked. Dress shopping was definitely difficult for me but I’m so happy I found my one, and if anyone else is dress shopping and struggling with how you look I believe that you will find the one you feel beautiful in🖤
