It's been 6 months already? Wow! Pleased to say that the moss ball tree ecosphere is still going strong. That said, it was in dire need did a trim.
Unfortunately the snails don't appear to have made it this long. I think it's fine without any inhabitants though, so I'm not going to stock it again.
Long-term I expect this to continue to grow and do well. Let me know what you think about the progress down in the comments!
If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, leave them down in the comments! Also for additional content like this, photos of my projects, updates and more, then be sure to follow me on Instagram @serpadesign.

You should get some aquatic snails. They eat algae and would keep your moss ball tree looking nice and keep the water fairly clean. A good type would be a mystery snail or two they get to a good size and would clean up pretty quickly

Tanner I'm not sure that is growth from the Marimo. I've had a lot of marimos over the years and when they grow they get fluffier and less round, but do not turn into string algae. What you have here looks like string algae. The Marimo are very slow growing and other algaes will grow on them if there are extra nutrients. Beautiful ecosphere, you are truly talented!
@Helveteshit

That ecosphere needs Pest snails. They eat algae like machines. They only need a bit of cucumber slices occasionally to boost population.

I didnt know they got all stringy like that either. I pictured more like tuffs, from being rolled in the first place. Thought they would just piece apart . Thats cool but makes me feel like touching them will give me the acrylic nail geebies. Thats some funky stuff

My brother once made a tri-level terrarium. I'm new here, so if you have a multi-level, I'm sure I'll feel like a fool soon. However, if you haven't, I'd love to see one. Bottom level was completely aquatic with fish, mid level was tropical, top level was arid. They all connected somehow.

I think it’s sad the snails first had a nutrient deficiency then died. Cannot call any enclosure healthy and thriving without understanding the true circle of all that is in it. They died off. That’s human error. Don’t forget your compassion towards your enclosures. It’s not just “living elements” and they aren’t just toys. They are living beings. Thanks x
