In the late sixties my babysitter had that exact same car, I got to ride in it several times ,and I always loved the way they looked, hers was passed down from her parents and was mint . I sure do miss my childhood and youth. Was a great time. Cheers Sir

Thats one dusty road toad. Its going to be fun to see it progress. What an interesting concept of fixing stuff then sending it on. Had four door 1962 Lancer in the early 90s. Used it as my daily driver for a couple of years. Drove it 25000 km a year. I live in northern Sweden, had 14x6 inch steel rims with snowtires on. It ran like a dream. When i met my first wife she was so embarrassed over that car. SO UGLY she said. I loved it and i still miss it. Hard to find in these in Sweden so now i drive old Chevys Not at winter thoug. 😊

UNLIMITED POWERRRR well maybe I am 100% with you on the no cooling lines on a rad with a manual. Sure clutch replacement is always fun but you never have to touch a drop of atf or have mystery leaks from who in the hell knows where. Oh and ive never had to replace an input or an output shaft seal on a manual before but autos? Forget it

The longer you look, the better it looks. I do like those nice big wheel well openings. With a good running SB, 4 spd and an 8 3/4, stripped out, caged with some fat tires all around and some suspension work it would make a great lite weight (no acid dipping necessary) Touring Car.

My 383 does it! I think it’s the only working one I’ve ever had. It opens when hot and quiets down, and then snaps shut about five minutes after you shut the car off. I love that.

I really am liking this car from the door handle on back. So Good. Really like the super thick rear window rubber, window and trunk deck. It works for me. Forward of that? It's kinda like TWO Completely Different people designed this car. Are there other fenders and grille and STUFF we could bolt on it to make it look cool?

Honestly I almost didn’t when it was a different, even worse car. But then I saw pictures of this one and I just knew it was a good idea, that it has that look the internet loves, and that I could make it run. And I don’t have to build the whole car! That’s the beauty of this deal. No one person, shop, or channel has to do more than they can. Everybody grabs one or two smaller projects on the car, and hopefully it all gets done. We’ll see if it works out that way, but I’m hopeful.

How handy are you with plumbing solder and a propane torch? those old copper brass rads are fairly easy to fix if you have trouble finding another rad.

copper wire strands with soldering will patch up a badly damaged radiator! It's one of those slower projects but it's far cheaper than ordering a new rad. I have a 1979 winnebago itasca 454 chevy. The radiator looks like something out of a cabover semi and the heater core is bigger than a small car radiator. For me it was far cheaper to solder it. Just saying that it is a doable option. I'm in Canada where everything is roughly double or triple the cost of buying from the US.

I did a whole video on it. My actual break in procedure didn’t change, but build procedures did - cam and lifter selection is the important part. No Comps or other off the shelf brands. NOS or cam grinder direct only.

There’s a very good chance it was. It likely left in tiny pieces… or I guess it could be embedded in the piston. That plug was also loose though, so who knows. It could have left the plug by other means.

I have a nicely built 340 that’s currently in a 71 satellite. Probably making around 425hp and 450 ft pounds of torque. I’m thinking about selling it and dropping in a hellcat in I found for a good deal. What would the swap be minus the engine cost because I want to pair it up to my 904 that’s in the car?

it sounds like it's choking when you give it throttle. very throaty, but like something's choking it in the intake. the exaust is garbage, so, could be that.

It turned out to be a weird ignition problem, mixed with a predictable carburetor problem. I thought it sounded choked too, but that wasn't the case.

Correction, Jamie. The Dodge Dart is Red/White, the Lancer is White and Rust..It's also so ugly, it's hard to look at for long without my eyes hurting. 😂😂 It makes no sense like it's not fully formed...in fact it's deformed!!! Almost like it was meant to be a 4 door, but they forgot to install the back doors. I'm afraid if you pressure wash it, it may disintegrate....I guess that would be one way to get rid of it for sure 👍

It’s such a polarizing design. Lots of people remember them fondly or appreciate them, but a good few have a major physical reaction 😅 I agree that the two door sedan looks awkwardly proportioned. But I think it’s still neat.

You watched me open it. You saw what’s in it. The needle and seat is good. The pump diaphragm works. I can’t fix the worn out throttle shaft. I might be able to plug the random hole in the body. But like… how much time am I supposed to waste on that piece of absolute garbage?
