Enjoyed watching this!! It's funny.. I am a 60's baby and I just made me as a toddler with my 2 older brothers and my parents and grandmother to play on the sims. right now I am building my house I grew up in.. the best that I can remember it and what I can find to use in the sims to decorate! Some items I just use something else that I may like instead because sims doesn't have what I need. For the life of me I can't remember much about color of objects in our old home but remember the floor plan to a "T"!! As far as your question about the toys.. I grew up in a very well to do home.. when I was very small I could bring out one toy to our den/family room to play with while I watched tv as long as I put it way after. I remember in the 70's we got another tv to put in the play room for us kids. My parents had a beautiful garden area/patio where they could entertain but I still had a place to play with a playhouse and a swingset and a tire swing tide to an old huge tree on the side of the house. We move in the 80's to a 3 story home for more space in the Atlanta area.. Stone Mount Ga.. This was after my father was killed in a plane crash when I was only 8yrs old then my mom remarried when I was almost 12 and then we moved. Wish there was more retro items in the game! I don't know how to get cc items.. I always have to get my daughter to do that for me 😂😂

I was a kid in the 1970s, and this looks eerily familiar. We did have outdoor play equipment, my sister and I had a big square sandbox, and a swing-set (which was replaced by a geodesic climbing frame, my dad was a "maker"). Simple swings, play-houses, and "kiddie pools" were fairly common in our neighborhood. Good on keeping the kid's room non-specific; toys and kids' things weren't as gender-stereotyped as they were in the '80s-'90s. The trendy colors of the '70s were Avocado, Harvest Gold, and Burnt Orange, and they were used for everything from textiles up through major appliances and fixtures. Walnut was THE accent wood color. Not that there weren't other colors, too; I remember we had a pink toilet in the second bathroom, and our piano was painted blue! Mostly pretty authentic. Yes, "Mr. Coffee" was a 1970s thing. Anachronisms I caught include the dish antenna (it would instead have one of those big crisscrossy wire aerials), the raised-bowl sink in the bathroom, and the novelty light-string on the patio (any light-string other than at Christmas would be weird). Oh, and the baby Yoda, but we'll give him a pass because of cuteness...

yes, you stayed outside all day. It was safe and you played till the street lights were on. that was my childhood in the 70's

Wow, I think you captured the feel wonderfully! I was little in the eighties, but there were plenty of orange and brown and “ugly” linoleum floors in our house from the decade before.

Even though the color scheme is all over the place and there's some kind of "ugly" objects, I still love the way everything looks together. Great job!

It's a mess 😂 I'm a crazy person about things matching, so this was a bit painful, but came together I feel! Thanks so much! 💓🤗

This looks amazing and the color scheme is on point! I always fail to build 70's houses because I feel like they are so dark because of all the wood paneling and the strong colors, but your house just looks so bright and cute!😍

I love the 70s aesthetic I know it’s quite retro but I love it. I love those caramel shades and all that olive and citric greens, the mix of it with square shapes and a lot of wood. People can see 70s aeshetic as extra because of the psychodellic and weird colorful stuff, but I tend to see the other side of 70s as beautiful elegant forniture, and simple square and round shapes, it’s kinda of clean spaces with plants and wood bookshelfs filled with vinyl records, oh I love this vibe! I loved your home! Next time I beg you please if you can, make 70s chic modern house! I’m gonna build one by myself in the sims, but I would love to see yours! cause your ideas and the way you build and create your homes are just another level! 👏🏻✨💕

@jordanhogue75653 жыл бұрын
In my experience with the bathroom/kitchen tile thing- often cheaper houses might have the same tiles to save money but more expensive houses would design the spaces separately. Usually this also means for houses that are entirely a hard surface floor (all wood floors or all tile floors) they’ll just take that into the bathrooms and kitchens because again, cost

(I swear that is a compliment loll) Also how do you only have 8k followers? You deserve so many more!! I think you're my new favorite sim youtuber!

This is really cool, I'm not exposed to too many 70s references anymore, I guess the Goldbergs is my closest xD and That 70s show but from those houses - you've nailed it. I love the little hallway between the kids bedroom and the bathroom - I never do that, such a good idea and it's so realistic. I also love the little train set as well. Just really awesome stuff 👌

It’s not common to have matching tiles in bathrooms. It’s more common to have your entry and kitchen match with the same tile. But it depends on the decorator.
