Iain (i think is his name) just makes himself look like a right tosser during team tasks. He cannot listen to instructions or work as part of a team, he just goes off on his own and when (i forgot her name) tries to calmly reason with him he just yells over her and ignores her. He said he was ashamed at how he saw himself in the other team task they did after seeing it, kind of sad how he didnt notice he was being a wanker during all the team tasks it seems

Katherine's rant is even better when you consider that she was already winning the series, and would've needed to get last AND Jon Richardson get 1st on that task in order for her not to win the series. But I guess the outburst makes good TV.
@iliketrains34956 ай бұрын
I worked this out a while ago and if she got disqualified, Jon would have gone up from 2 to 3 points and Katherine would be 3 down, so they would have ended up tied.

I heard it on a podcast, they actually physically shrank him down to the size of a banana for this segment. There were some technical problems restoring him to full size and they had to delay the studio recording for a few weeks while they worked on it. He’s still 2 inches shorter than he used to be.

I know I'll get shit for taking it even slightly seriously, but the whole Fielding series was an endless parade of painting things (because he went to art college) and BS like the video editing. Okay it's a comedy program, but if we don't even pretend the tasks mean something, it's woefully lacking in the joke part. And if the tasks do mean something, the fruit bowl Noel is bullshit.

I don't see why learning to tie a tie would be a gender based issue. Either you learn to tie one as part of your school uniform or you never bother to learn - male or female, you will be in the same situation regardless. Maybe you could make an argument about military service, but women have to wear ties for full dress uniforms too so it's the same situation all over again. Yeah, fewer women join up, but 1) That's their choice. Nothing's stopping them from choosing a military career and 2) Only about 1 in 700 men undertake any form of military service in their lives so it's not exactly a common choice amongst men either
@JustAnotherBookNerd6 ай бұрын
Katherine Ryan is Canadian-Irish and grew up in Ontario. Most Canadian public schools (including those in Ontario) don't have mandatory uniforms. Dress codes, yes, but not school uniforms. And the standard "fancy" or "dressed-up" outfit for a woman would not typically have a tie. The only reason for her to have needed to learn is either to wear one herself (which would be a personal style choice and nothing more) or to do it for someone else. So, yes, it makes perfect sense for her to be the only one to not know how to tie a tie, because they're is literally no reason for her to have needed that skill growing up and living in Canada. I will add, that even if she didn't know how to tie a tie (for reasons stated above), she still could have put the tie on because it was already tied. None of the competitors actually had to tie it, just tighten it around their neck. Katherine could have received a crash course on how to do this, because its just pulling it into place. Regardless, my above comment still stands.

What an idiotic response. Women don’t learn to tie ties to wear for formal events like men do, school uniform or not. Why you’re focused on school uniforms is asinine.
@cazzabojangles6 ай бұрын
You appear to have forgotten about office jobs- men will almost always wear a tie, women won't. In schools, you only really wear a tie at secondary, where most the people I knew just loosened them and tightened them as they simply never learned. Also, Katherine is Canadian, they typically don't have a school uniform.
