Thanks for watching. This chainsaw hadn't been used for over a year but the owner couldn't get it to start. Luckily they didn't get it to start because they forgot to put oil in the gas. As for the reason why it didn't start it was user error.

Don't think I've ever put gas only in a 2 stroke, but I did once fill the fuel tank of my Husky chain saw with bar oil by mistake! Luckily, I realized it when I went to fill the oiler with fuel mix and was able to drain the bar oil completely before trying to start it. Also, I've had good luck using fuel stabilizer in my gas/gas mix so that I don't have to drain the tank each time I use a machine. Great videos - really enjoy watching them. Thanks!

Another well produced IHG educational video! Also a very lucky new saw owner. I have to keep (2) fuel cans handy since I actually have (2) 4-stroke chainsaws in my collection. YES, USE CAUTION and confirm when fueling your 2-stroke saws. Also, if possible, only use Non-Ethanol Fuel. Ethanol is hydroscopic.(absorbs moisture) *No I haven't made the fatal saw mistake and hope it never happens.

I've never used straight gas in lieu of a mix or personally know anyone who has. My wife, wanting to be helpful and not wanting to bother me, used mix in a 4 stroke lawn tractor -- 16:1 mix. Fortunately, there was enough fuel already in the tank to dilute the oil to just poor running for a while. I let her know that was the least of possible issues in that there's quite a checklist prior to machinery usage.

Doubt it would hurt it, my rototiller has 2 different oil drain plugs on it, and 1 oil check plug and 1 filler plug by accident i filled it all the way to the top and started it, its a 4 stroke 8.8hp but I had a 80- foot high white cloud for about 3 minutes, must have been at least an extra half a litre or more in there, never hurt it one bit and ran just like new.

I used a Slovene-made chainsaw model Iskra and after 30 years of hard work, it was time to buy a new tool and change brand as Iskra stopped producing chainsaws and start selling made in China under their Brand (I am buying only made in Europe products). I was advised that Husquarna is "the best" so I bought it, as I need the chainsaw now only a few times a year but then intensively a model 135 (~300€). I was working only about 4 hours continuously at the first use (I used to work with Iskra 10 hours a day...) and the chainsaw suddenly stopped working. It was with the proper precise 2% (exact) fresh mixture (Iskra was e.g. was working no matter what fuel was inside literary, just to be "oily"... even a one-year-old mixture) and the chain was oiled with the always fulled tank. The official Husquarna service said that I overheated the chainsaw as it was not meant to work so long and that 2% is true official but "everybody knows that must be more oil than 2% (???) ... 4 hours, that is a joke...right?) and that due to the too-long operation the ventils and the motor started to wabble so it doesn't work. O.k. I read the manual but there was no warning about the time I should work and there was no sensor to warn me to stop... and I decided to repair the chainsaw... the repair cost more than two made in china Iskaras... btw... so I went to my property to do some woodwork and after two hours of continuous work the Husquarna stopped to work again... right from the service again and same "you overheated the tool" - not to meant to work so long... My conclusion is that Husquarna "sucks" - it is too "delicate". I bought than Iskra (Made in China) for 70€... and guess... the machine works... I did two days of intensive work, about 8 intensive hours daily. Husquarna seems that is for the "urban pussies" and overhyped brand. I have a tool to work with it not bothering to repair it constantly.

A simple video of how to mix two stroke fuel would be nice. My neighbour said his hedge trimmer was running rough, it sure was. There was oil pouring out of the exhaust and covering all the engine, and the smoke was fantastic. He was using what I guess was 10 to 1 oil mix, as he had no calibrated measure. I put some 50:1 into it and it cleared up the smoking in about 5 minutes. I just mix 20cc of synthetic oil to every litre that goes into my fuel can. ( 5 litres full = 100cc of oil.) . . . . . . . .

You need to compression-check the saw with the throttle wide open and keep pulling until the indicator stops increasing. 75 Psi? that saw shouldn't be running. As a general rule, you need 100 psi for the saw to idle and run. Even then, they won't perform that well. My guess is that saw has more than 75 psi. Check it again with the throttle wide open. If it still reads 75, I'd be looking for another compression tester. Try actually cutting wood with it to see if it will perform.

@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE 5 күн бұрын
a lot fuel in the crankshaft is the result of failed attempts to start a machine like yours. You have to keep in mind that after a couple of pulls of the rope, with the carb choked, it will only guess worse from there. You'll need to make sure that after each failed attempt, that you use no choke and squeeze the throttle while pulling, otherwise the engine will flood.
